For zuo wen, the various sources would be school generated ones & from enrichment centres etc. Essentially, child needs to learn good phrases and different scenarios to use them in, which reading more model compos should help. But how do you revise Chinese zuo wen (Paper 1) and Paper 2 Chinese Compreh ?
for zuo wen : which model compo books, to read from ?
For compre, whether it is English or Chinese, it is important that the passage can be understood first, otherwise child will find it difficult to answer questions on it, let alone infer answers, as required for English. Hence building vocab is important for both the languages.
Techniques like annotation of the compre passage is useful for some kids, as it will break the passage up into bite-size information, which they can use to piece together to answer the questions. Useful to practise just reading any passage whether in English or Chinese, and answer short self-generated questions, this will help child to focus on really comprehending what is being read, instead of just skimming the passage. -

I believe some Science guide books do have lists, but they have to be read in context, ie. in relation to the topic and the related Science concepts, to enable correct application of said word(s).for Science - Is there a so called list of must know Science vocab words, for P3 to P6? So as to build up vocabulary? For Chinese, we can use 词语手册
But for Science, are there such books?
Anyone can advise / recommend? Thanks. -
CMF:
I agree with CMF. If you look at Science PSLE Revision Guide (Marshall Cavendish), the key words are in bold. Eg., under Magnets, instead of saying the magnets stick together, the child needs to use the word attract.phtthp:

CMF:
Again agree with CMF. Besides 好词佳句, it is useful to memorise paragraphs of good beginnings & endings (extracted along the way as you read). 好词佳句 alone is not going to help much if they are not applied meaningfully in your writing. I'd in fact recommend reading Draft 2 of your own writing.phtthp:

Hi,
How do u all train your child, until the child can understand the significance behind zero tolerance for making careless mistake in Maths ?
Thanks -

I can only hope to reduce careless mistakes...what I do is use a calculator to add up the marks she lost due to carelessness and show her what would have been the grand total if she had been more careful. Same her the other subjects.Hi,

P5 SA2 exam will be over soon…and in few weeks time we will be heading for Year end 6 weeks long holidays. What are your year end plans for your DS or DD to prepare the coming 2016 PSLE?
Intend to revise 1 topic per day with DD on Science (P3 to P5) and attempt to do left over 2014 exam papers
