Yes. If you qualify for Phase 2B (grassroots leader, Parent volunteer or member of associated religious/clan and have the recommendation letter), you can apply under that phase. However, do note the balloting trend to see if you have a chance. some schools have traditionally balloted within 1km - meaning you won't even get a chance to ballot.

I want to check when is the usual period the PV notice is out for Hong Wen Primary school. My son is going to P1 in 2017 and wishes to register to PV for Hong Wen.

Also do we still need to go thru’ ballot if we done sufficient PV?

The RC actually promise to give him the letter but keep on delaying so when the clan recommendation letter came he used the letter.

Very straight forward. As long as your friend fulfill the requirements of a GRL, then he should get that letter. If eligible, just need to login to PA website to apply for the GRL letter, everything's done online already.

Perhaps,
1). Not promoted to Executive member or,
2). Did not meet min attendance required or,
3). Missed the dateline to apply online.

:shock: You are way too late to ask this this question now .... PV application should have completed not later 1 July 2015, and at least 40 hours of PV needs to be completed by June of the application year (i.e June 2016 for your case).

Yes balloting is still required if the numbers of applicants are more than vacancies

Best way: marry an alumni. Although your current spouse may have a different opinion on that.
Next best option: buy a house within 1km and volunteer, either with the school or with the grassroots (may be late for grassroots though).

boys in Nanyang primary : no affliation to enter Hwa Chong Secondary 6 years IP program.

if you want affliation for your son : wiser to consider Catholic High Junior or Maris Stella primary, instead

Condo starts from $1+m

HDB starts from $0.5m

PV - min 80 hours

Alumni spouse ..... errrr

Or marry a staff

hdb = super possible but then it would be a new hdb vs a 40yr old

i don’t need affiliation for secondary school la… if my son’s PSLE cannot make it, then its too bad for him.
