About the Nissan noodle meusem, I am also very interested to bring my family there, would a 14 and 15 years old enjoy this or would it be too kiddish for them? 😄

My sons were 17 and 15 year old when we went and they liked it too. Hop over to the Ramen museum if you like ramen. Lots of variety available.

Thanks dnls_mum!
In this case we would like to go to Nissan Muesum and doramon Muesum on the same day, I think it is on the same route?

How is intercontinental ANa? Is it at good location?
Thanks!
Which nissin museum is better in terms of convenience, offerings or even crowds? The one at Yokohama or Osaka?

angeltngthan:
Planning a trip with 3.5yo and 1yo in Jan 2017 my son is interested in trains so want to bring him to Japan for about 7-9days.

It will be our first trip to Japan and intend to go the following places:

Disneyland and Disneysea
Imperial Palace
Nissan noodle museum
Fish market

Any other places to recommend? My hubby is into watch so might want to drop by shop to see if he could get a seiko from there as a keepsake. Any hotel to recommend? Planning to fly by Sq but hubby worry about the number of luggage so that we need to carry around.

Any advice on the luggages? If taxi from haneda will cost a lot? How about the returning to Narita airport? I foresee the luggages will be heavier for the return trip.

As Dnls_mum has advised, you might want to visit Tsukiji from 9am onwards.

Btw, you read about their relocation to Disney area Tokyo Bay this November, so you will definitely go to the NEW Tsukiji Market, not the downtown one.

http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=5508&p=1624361&hilit=tsukiji#p1624361

I'm sure the new one will have the same motorised trolleys or forklifts zipping around speedily. The clobbering of blue fin tuna might send ice, water, guts and blood flying all over...(a bit exaggerated lah!). Basically you get organised chaos in there when the tuna auction starts. And the floor might be wet.

If you're thinking of the 5+am inner market tours, then forget it. You must be there by 3am and wait in the holding room for 2+ hrs. Very packed with tourists, very boring and pretty cold in winter. That's the old system; not sure how's the layout of the new Tsukiji...

The current inner mkt is open to the public from 9am. Outer mkts will be crowded with tour groups and sushi lovers from 7am-9am, but you should be able to savour some fresh seafood/sashimi from 9-10.30am still. Anything beyond 11am, please go home. Queues at the current Tsukiji mkt can be horrendously long during holiday seasons. Am not sure if it's less crowded after they relocate to Tokyo Bay. Just be prepared to queue with your stroller, or baby carrier in the cold in January 2017!

Thanks!
Sorry, I have not stayed at Intercontinental AnA. So can't comment. We only made a day trip to Yokohama, actually really only half a day, visiting cup noodle museum then going to ramen museum for lunch.

Take note that the tickets for Doraemon Museum can only be bought at Lawson convenient stores. They dont sell the ticket at the museum.

Hi I’m planning a trip to Kansai area in Dec 16. Does anyone has recommendation of fruit picking activity in Osaka area in Dec? I’ve been searching but it seems difficult to find any in Dec.

Anyone has been to Harvest hill in Osaka? Is it worth the trip there in winter?

Thanks in advance!

i am back ... my gosh the weather here is so hot .. sure missed the temp in tokyo

took ANA there .. ..but i find the dreamliner kind of small ... their seat are catered for slim people not fat people like me cos the seat belt extension quite short :rotflmao: food wise ok , service wise i find the stewardess prefer to entertain the japanese more .. well even SQ also entertain others more so can't complain

upon arrived we took the airport limousine to our hotel .. from airport directly to hotel .. took 1hr ++

We stayed at hilton shinjuku , the room is big cos we booked the king Jr Suite . it is big enough to put 2 roll bed but we only took one for my 5 yrs old boy and it's free lolz there is ample room for us to put our luggage and for my 2 kids to run around . as for the toilet i expect it to be bigger but kind of small for a suite but still ok since we don't spend much time inside

http://www3.hilton.com/resources/media/hi/TYOHITW/en_US/img/hotel/roomtypeimages/main/HL_kingjuniorsuite01_386x310_FitToBoxSmallDimension_Center.jpg\">

the hotel provide free shuttle service to shinjuku station and from hotel we can also walk to subway station so in terms of convenient i would say yes very convenient

due to rainy day and tiredness from flight , my itinerary got to change accordingly 😆

day 1 - just idle around shinjuku station area cos we soon tired from the night flight
day 2 - rain the whole day and freaky cold at 5 degree so we seek shelter at the epson Aqua park .. had an enjoyable day there ... esp the dolphins and pilot whale performance
day 3 -tsukiji fish market at 9-10+ super crowded ... managed to eat some sushi etc .. then moved on to Ginza , akihabara, and the door step of koishikawa korakuen cos we didn't know they closed at 430pm haiz ...wasted trip
day 4 - asakusa , tokyo sky tree , sensoji temple , sumida park riverside gallery to witness my 1st early sakura blossom ,.. then follow by to Ueno park for more early sakura blossom and some japanese already started their picnic there lolz
day 5 - harajuku , meiji shrine ( my leg near break from walk .. that is one long walk to the shrine ) and tokyo tower
day 6 - home sweet home

over these 5 days we ate on the move ..see anything interesting will go try and surprisingly they are not as expensive as i thought they would be ...but some look interesting but not child friendly so can't go in try guess will wait till my kids are slightly old then go try lolz

and Dnls_mum ...i can't find those baby food ...hardly see any proper supermarket dunno izzt i blind or i simply can't see it ...but lucky i bought a lot in singapore and bring it there
