A suggestion, i don`t suggest your children to eat too much raw sashimi when they are there...

I just came back from Aomori, going past Fukushima area via the night bus am still doing alright, but then again, radiation is something we cannot see, it`s better to be careful. 😃

About the Nissan noodle meusem, I am also very interested to bring my family there, would a 14 and 15 years old enjoy this or would it be too kiddish for them? šŸ˜„

My sons were 17 and 15 year old when we went and they liked it too. Hop over to the Ramen museum if you like ramen. Lots of variety available.

        Thanks dnls_mum!
In this case we would like to go to Nissan Muesum and doramon Muesum on the same day, I think it is on the same route?

How is intercontinental ANa? Is it at good location?
        Thanks!

                angeltngthan:
Planning a trip with 3.5yo and 1yo in Jan 2017 my son is interested in trains so want to bring him to Japan for about 7-9days.

It will be our first trip to Japan and intend to go the following places:

                Disneyland and Disneysea
                Imperial Palace
                Nissan noodle museum
                Fish market

Any other places to recommend? My hubby is into watch so might want to drop by shop to see if he could get a seiko from there as a keepsake. Any hotel to recommend? Planning to fly by Sq but hubby worry about the number of luggage so that we need to carry around.

Any advice on the luggages? If taxi from haneda will cost a lot? How about the returning to Narita airport? I foresee the luggages will be heavier for the return trip.

As Dnls_mum has advised, you might want to visit Tsukiji from 9am onwards.

Btw, you read about their relocation to Disney area Tokyo Bay this November, so you will definitely go to the NEW Tsukiji Market, not the downtown one.

                http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=5508&p=1624361&hilit=tsukiji#p1624361

I'm sure the new one will have the same motorised trolleys or forklifts zipping around speedily. The clobbering of blue fin tuna might send ice, water, guts and blood flying all over...(a bit exaggerated lah!). Basically you get organised chaos in there when the tuna auction starts. And the floor might be wet.

If you're thinking of the 5+am inner market tours, then forget it. You must be there by 3am and wait in the holding room for 2+ hrs. Very packed with tourists, very boring and pretty cold in winter. That's the old system; not sure how's the layout of the new Tsukiji...

The current inner mkt is open to the public from 9am. Outer mkts will be crowded with tour groups and sushi lovers from 7am-9am, but you should be able to savour some fresh seafood/sashimi from 9-10.30am still. Anything beyond 11am, please go home. Queues at the current Tsukiji mkt can be horrendously long during holiday seasons. Am not sure if it's less crowded after they relocate to Tokyo Bay. Just be prepared to queue with your stroller, or baby carrier in the cold in January 2017!

Thanks![/quote]Sorry, I have not stayed at Intercontinental AnA. So can't comment. We only made a day trip to Yokohama, actually really only half a day, visiting cup noodle museum then going to ramen museum for lunch.

Take note that the tickets for Doraemon Museum can only be bought at Lawson convenient stores. They dont sell the ticket at the museum.
