Allocate base on citizenship, Singaporean will have priority?

CCA - can follow LEAPS 2.0 CCA Grading Scheme
      https://www.moe.gov.sg/docs/default-source/document/education/secondary/files/leaps.pdf
If awarded MOE Edusave Character Award (ECHA), also can get points
CIP hours also can gain points
with reference to above link \"LEAPS 2.0 CCA Grading scheme\" :-
if one is a monitor or prefect, points are awarded under Leadership category

but did not mention any point, if one is a rep.
can be subject rep (English rep / Maths rep / Science rep / Chinese rep, Malay rep, Tamil rep), or Music rep, or PE rep, or Social Studies rep, or Art rep, etc

does it mean only prefect can score points, whereas zero point for the rep ?

I remember about 13 years ago, it was $750 for 45mins to engage a harpist.. I mean to play at the wedding, not teach.

Now, that sounds like a great career choice! No need to worry about PSLE scores at all.

Using \"leadership\" to gain entry to top secondary schools is totally crap! At least in my son's school, the selection is totally unfair, biased or whatever you call it. In a coed school, the chance that boys get selected is very slim unless the parents are related to the school in some ways. One good example is be an active member of the PSG so that teachers know you and your child. You'll get lots of attention and \"benefits\". For parents whose boys are in P1 this year, you can consider joining PSG. Otherwise, it is almost impossible to be one.

Girls are deemed to be more guai (unfortunately the truth is only a few are genuinely well behaved, not all) so the active and noisy boys, I am sorry! You stand aside and make way for the girls who generally know how to behave or impress at THE RIGHT TIME. Who ask you don't know how to act guai or keep quiet for that few moment that teachers are watching you. Over the past years, head prefects are all girls too and you know why. Why can't have 1 head girl and 1 head boy? Why the school is unable to give equal opportunity to both gender? Parents also notice that some girls are chosen for dual roles, prefect and monitor at the same time, wearing 2 badges above their name tag. Is she so special or super guai that the other 39 students in the class are not good enough to be selected?! In fact, students in the same class are the ones who know their classmates best and these students obviously know who are the deserving ones who are qualified to be their student leaders.

I believe MOE will still rely on raw marks to decide whether the students go to Expres

              s/NA/NT?
Because I dont see how it is possible to assign based on broad grade bands.
parents only know what points their P6 child scored, but won't know what is the child's Total Raw score.
Internally, MOE record & keep track, monitor each P6 student's Raw score, but MOE won't disclose info to parents. Parents are kept in the dark.

suppose some P6 students could not enter Top Secondary school (in one of their 6 choices), so they go and appeal.
Since parents no idea what their child's Raw score is, the appeal become difficult, because appeal on what basis, what ground ?

maybe some appeal may succeed, while other appeal fail, even though they may fall into the same band.

              example

two students X and Y : both scored 4A1, for 4 subjects at PSLE
              (English, Maths, Science, Chinese)
their score each ==> 4 point (as A1 represent 1 point)

let's look at current \"O\" level scoring system

              A1: 75 and above
              A2: 70 to 74

              B3: 65 to 69
              B4: 60 to 64

              C5: 55 to 59
              C6: 50 to 54

              D7: 45 to 49

              E8: 40 to 45

              F9: 39 and below

notice that A1 band is very wide, ranging from 75 to 100 ?

although both students (X and Y) may fall into the same band A1, but due to wide range of A1, their Total Raw score can be very far from each other.

              eg
suppose student X scored 75 marks, per subject
              Total Raw score = 75 x 4 subjects = 300

suppose student Y scored 99 marks, per subject
              Total Raw score = 99 x 4 = 396

              difference ?
              396 - 300 = 96 marks, big difference, isn't it ?

after appeal, maybe student Y appeal can succeed, while student X fail, even though both happen to fall into the same A1 band.
End up confusion after appeal, parents start complain, \"why my son cannot enter Top school, whereas my neighbour's son downstairs can ? both of them also 4A1, what ! Not fair ! ...\"

                To a certain extent, yes!
Leadership role could be attained due to the child's popularity or teachers' favouritism.
Knew of a school's head prefect was selected as she's a teacher's DD, academic is good but not the cohort's choice to be the head prefect.

Subject reps’ role is minor, hence doesn’t carry points?

Er... understand the angst among parents but surely this is no reason to put down the girls in leadership roles? 😓

Since parents will still be dissatisfied after appeal, then abolish appeals altogether lor. Complete waste of resources.
