2016 P1 Registration Exercise for 2017 In-Take
-
I ‘should’ be in phase 2B, but they never called me up for any duties, I didn’t serve a single hour. I checked with them on which phase I should be in and never got a reply, so I’m only assuming I’m in phase 2C. The MOE website says 40 hrs must be served, not just by registering myself. shrug also don’t know why they never called me up for any volunteering duties.

Sometimes, it does pay to be a little more proactive... or, as they say, kiasu, when it comes to things like these. Don't wait for them to call you. Call them or actually go meet up with them directly for projects.
In any case, it is water under the bridge, so just go with the flow and hope for the best. Good luck for SAJS next Friday. -

I suggest that u check with the school before Wednesday's registration what extra documents you need to bring? Because your situation is a abit unique. I dunno what they will accept in lieu of the father's NRIC? Better to check beforehand that what u have is sufficient, rather than scramble around during the stressful 3 days of phase 2C. I don't think the school will discriminate, but they are constrained by MOE rules sometimes.Newbie here.
Will be registering my son in SAJS under phase 2C, and i live <1km according to the map provided.
What are his chances? And also, will the fact that he has missing father information on his BC affect his chances? Is it definitely impartial to kids of single parents?
TIA! -

school not going to assign duty individually, say
\"ok, PV X : you do this duty,
or
PV Y : you do another duty, etc\"
you're supposed to be pro-active, be on the sharp alert look-out for email that come in anytime. Then, you must act & respond very fast.
Once an email come in, many PVs will grab opportunity very fast, react very fast.
eg, reply back to the email, quickly :-
\"Ok, i (your name) take this time slot on which weekday (specific date), from what start time to what end time in school, clock 1 hour ... to do duty X ...\" -
Yeah I went to double check my email address, Coz the first brief in they left out a few parents. So we went for the ‘make-up’ briefing. I also did ask the staff in charge of I’m eligible to do PV since my Son comes from a slightly different background. She says it’s all ok, and won’t make a difference. I verified my email and never got a single email from the school since then. I called, and never got a response. My subsequent emails and calls were never responded either. My time was pretty limited to go to the school to ask though. Should have tried harder really. Anyway I hope this round, there isn’t any discrimination, because I know of the stereotype some have labelled us unfortuately. I’m within 1km, so hope that is sufficient.

SAJS Left 57.
Your chance seems okie. apart from year 2006 and year 2007. Please refer to the below link for the stats.
2 qn: will you still apply if there is a balloting? and do you have other back up choices of school?

Thanks Lexy! Iintend to register him on day 1, I think chances are there. My backup plan will be cedar, both have similar number of vacancies. I see it as I'm competing against just boys, so that's half the number to compete with. Waiting to see the analysis from chief.

MOE website has the requirements you need as a single parent. Unfortunately you need to go to the school directly to apply as online registration needs both parents.Newbie here.

Bring your son's BC, vaccination record and your IC. If you are divorced bring the court papers for documentation of divorce and it must show you have sole custody of child. If in doubt email MOE directly. Now they have someone to answer calls and mails about p1 registration.
If you never married, not to worry, your son's BC should be sufficient if there is no father's name indicated. Schools and MOE should not discriminate against single mothers. Your child deserves the same chance as any other child born to a citizen of this country. Good luck to you. -

There seems to be more boys than girls this year, so you really need to monitor the situation. Thanks Lexy! Iintend to register him on day 1, I think chances are there. Registration in Phase 2C only considers citizenship and home-school distance. I don't think your background will make a difference. My friend who is also a single mom managed to register her son in Cantonment in Phase 2C, so don't worry about your status. -
hello! newbie here!
Anyone registered in HIPS? Received confirmation but Orientation is on 28 December16! Any idea if booklist will be issued earlier?
