First Comprehension passage was about a girl who couldn't read and needs the help of 2 teachers to overcome her reading problem. Eventually the girl managed to read. I think the story is about a girl who has dyslexia.

Second Comprehension passage was about the history of Leonardo Da Vinci, the artist who drew Mona Lisa.
my ds said his compre passages are about monkeys and homework, totally different from your dd. so there is more than one set of paper....?

They used different booklet, for Round 1 and for Round 2.

Even within the same primary school, P3 students in different classes are given different booklet. That’s why some students English compreh passage is on Mona Lisa, another P3 student’s passage is about monkey.

Because different booklet used, Maths questions also different.
Not standardise the same booklet thoughout all P3 students.

          Whichever booklet been used :
all pupils given the same amount of time, for eng (1 hr 15 min) and for Maths (1 hr 30 min)

Since all of them using different booklet, that’s why some kids say they find English more difficult, while another kid may say they find Maths more difficult.

Quite a number of girls had opted out of Gep test today, in her school.

We have compared and find out that there are 2 sets of GEP papers for each subject. How will MOE decide on the cut-off point since different paper is being used?

Is it possible to have 2 different cut off point for each subject, depending on the booklets?

Hmmm......interesting actually, maybe moe purposely 出 different pattern each year, so that ksp forum cannot 'catch' the trend? :siam:
I'm wondering if there's also 2 booklets for each subject last year, for round 1?

When my DD1 took round 1 two years ago, me and my friend discussed the questions for both Eng and Maths. The questions for Eng & Math are the same despite our children taking the papers in different schools.

Come round 2, seems that different sets of papers are used.

Could it be that MOE will set the same standard paper for Round 2 GEP Selection Test to sieve out the gifted ones?

But why set 2 different papers for Round 1 GEP Screening Test this year? Unprecedented move!

My DS finds the papers are easy, especially maths. He commented so simple, no challenging question. Not only him, whole class find it easy too.

The Nanyang Top class (High ability) is so steady ! :salute:
Wow ! looks like Whole class can proceed to Round 2
