Hokkien Huay Kuan Primary Schools
-
What kind of activities do the volunteers at Hokkien Huay Kuan itself help out in normally, besides help to raise funds ?
How do they spend their time, in clocking up the activities, on hourly basis ? -
floppy:
For SHHK, based on my friends' experience and heresay, the 1-2 year volunteer/member will fail to get it unless he/she opt for one of the less popular schools.
Tao Nan and Ai Tong are very popular SHHK schools.skii:
Please note that becoming a member doesn't guarantee you'll get the letter for you to register in P2B. They will give the letters to older members first. So if you want to go this route you will have to register as early as possible, e.g.: at least 3-4 years before the registration year.
qns:
3-4 years volunteer normally
vs
1-2 years volunteer aggressively
will the 1-2 year parent fail to get the letter in the end?
Which are the less popular schools, easier to get in ? -
Hi,
I wanted to check if my child is born in the year of 2013. And if i was to join the Hokkien Huay Kuan to get letter for Nan Chiau primary school. Is the chance very slim? -

Only 2 years to P1 registration in July 2019. Are you able to clock the required hours within these 2 years?Hi,

Not sure about NC but those who got letters for the 2 east side school this year clocked hours in the 200-300 range.

In a nutshell, the more you clock, the higher your chances. This is in addition to the tenure of your membership.

Plus the less popular the school is (relatively speaking, among the five schools), the higher your chances of securing the recommendation.
