HHMummy:
...Parents who registered in P2B as PV and successfully gotten a place has to fulfil another 20 hours during the child's P1 year...
Wow! I never knew this! Is SNGS the only school which has this tie-in clause?? -
zac's mum:
I also didn't expect this added condition. Only made known to parents during the PV brief.HHMummy:

Alas, it's not difficult to fulfill this additional 20 hours after having started the PV duty.

HI,
I am new to this site and I’m really stressed out with P1 registration for my first girl (born 2012).
Within my place, there’s only 1 school (Ai Tong) that falls < 1 Km. There’s nothing for 1-2km. To make things worst, both my husband and my primary schools are no longer around.
So I am basically stuck with Ai Tong, which is a very popular school. I understand even with P2C < 1km, balloting is needed. STRESSED
Should I just go for a school which is > 2km instead of wasting my chance on Ai Tong? If so, is there anything I look out for e.g. trend of school with no balloting in the past? TIA! -

Lexy:
Less than 1km to Ai Tong but no other schools within 2km? Sounds like you are living around Windsor Park.
Wait, you and your husband school, no longer around is what school?Blum:

For girls, there's an easy option of no ballot not too far away in Toa Payoh / Marymount - if ballot is a concern for you, pick Marymount Convent. -
Lexy:
My pri school is st. Theresa's convent. Only left with secondary session now.

But even with Marymount Convent, its P2C >2km. Is that a good school?
Since I am gg to try P2C >2km, then what do you think of my chamces at St Margaret's Pri school? -

There is harm to check with st Theresa convent or MOE is there any school for 2A after it stop taking primary students.
Other girls school if you don't mind the distance are st Margaret (some years can), CHIJ katong, haig girls, CHIJ kellock (which is affiliated to st Theresa convent)
Qn 2: are you affiliated to clan/religion under 2b? -
Call MOE and check with them if primary school closed, is there any other option. If it’s merger, they should allow you to register under that merged school for priority.

Blum:
For dragon baby, the competition might be fierce, but as Lexy had pointed out, Townsville is still around, so you can easily register there under 2A2. Even for 2C, there might still be seats left.HI,

Otherwise, you could do PV for Kuo Chuan. It should also be quite near to you as you're only <1km from Ai Tong.
