I believe the sch already have the results. Usually the principal will present the result in slides to parents in hall if I am not wrong. Like what is the passing % kind. If they didn't get it earlier, how will they be able to prepare for the slides.

Some schools will even list the names of students scoring above a certain T-score! Imagine you are sitting there and your name is not on that list.

I expected my dd to do better and felt really disappointed when her name was not on the list. She was also on the verge of tears. Fast forward one year, it does not seem to matter as much...in sec, no one really cares about your PSLE scores.

I strongly advise parent(s) to accompany their children as they really need mental support.

My DDs’ sch announced those students who got 250 or more and they stood up in the hall to receive the cheers they deserved.

Lol, my hubby was telling me not to go..he said later my gal will feel embarass in front of her friends..but from the responses, i think most parents will tag along so she wont be the odd one out... i will definitely be there to \"cheer for her\" :xedfingers: good luck to all

On a side note, how will the results be given to the child? Is it still must tear the proforated slip or results (i.e grade and t-score) straightaway can see from the certificate? Does the school alteady have 1st hand news on the results b4 11am tomorrow?? Boy i am getting nervous now already... :imdrowning:

When MOE return the PSLE results of all P6 students to each school's Principal (P), the first thing P does is to compile following :-
- tabulate average (mean), std deviation, Quality percentage passes of the 2017 P6 cohort in their own school, against National average, etc.

- tabulate the number of P6xers who scored 250 & above, scored 260 to 270, scored 271 to 280 (if any), scored above 280 (if any).

- tabulate the number or percentage of P6xers gain admission into Secondary 1 (Express or Normal Academic or Normal Techical) stream.

Above info : P would have them, at his / her finger tips.

Then, tomorrow around 10.30 am to 11 am :
some schools will ask the P6xers to go back their own P6 classroom collect results slip, while other schools will make their P6xers all gather inside the school hall, sit according to their own P6 classes, before Form Tr give out results slip one by one, while parents sit anxiously at the back of the hall, awaiting their child's results.

P will then address everyone, inside the school hall, giving info like how is the overall performance this year like, give some statistics, announce whats the percentage going to Sec 1 Express / NA / NT stream, etc

P will then tell everyone : how many students scored 250 & above.

Sometimes, in some schools, P will also call out names : of those who scored 250 & above, one by one, specifically from which P6 class, to go up the stage, to take a group photograph of all those who scored 250 & above, from 2017 PSLE batch. As each name is being called out, as they go up the stage, one by one, you can count silently yourself : how many P6 students from your own school, have scored 250 & above?
If your child's name have been called out by P to go up the stage, u can snaoshot the group photo, for precious memory to remember.

Besides calling out nanes of those who had done well for Standard subjects, P may do likewise, to those who did Foundation subjects. This is the time for the P to affirm them.

There will be some who rejoice, some even cry with tears because they did not expect to do so well (an unexpected surprise), while on the other hand, there are some others who cried because they are disappointed.

Whatever it is, hug them and praise them, for all their hard work & effort put in

Fast forward one year, it does not seem to matter as much...in sec, no one really cares about your PSLE scores.

For those Non-DSA students who intend to Transfer schools at the end of Sec 1 / Sec 2, besides looking at your lower Secondary school results, sometimes Principal do look at your past PSLE T-score, too.

But, Straits times article reported that immediately after S1 posting, for entry into Sec 1 : no Transfer allowed, if do not meet COP.

Will u all accompany ur kid to collect his/her result or wait at home? I am still wondering whether to follow or not.. :?

I will encourage going with your child to collect the results, as this is a significant moment for the child (and parent). Be there to support your child however the results turn out.

I went with my DD...after results released, I couldn’t find her....only managed to know her results from her friends....in the end, I went home alone,DD went out with friends.....so anti-climax!!
