My DC's score is 254 and has been offered Cat 3 Third Languages.

Thank you Diannec, I know a child score is 253 also get Cat 3 third languages. and another child score is 251 but does not get it.
Does anybody know if there is any child score 252 get Cat 3 third languages? TIA...

I wonder it has something to do with English & Chinese languages? My DD's classmate got 253 but did not offer Cat 3 Foreign languages. Her Eng A*, Chinese was A but Higher Chinese : Distinction though. Dunno how the allocation was based on what criteria? Probably both Eng & Cl must be A*?? :?
No need A* for Eng and Chi for Cat 3 third language, could it be your DD’s friend added the HCL points to the actual T-score to make it 253?

Hmmm…I also a bit suspicious…haha…My dd said she saw it was 253, but I also think she might have saw wrongly… So it was more on aggregate scores rather than the languages?

Yeah it should based on the T-score not on individual language subject score 😓

Nope. My son got A for Chinese but A* for English. He was offered 3 categories to choose from.

He opted for Jap first choice, French second. But system only accepts one choice per category.
                  So just chose Japanese

If we indicate our first choice tat my child does not meet the COP (3 marks short) . And the rest of the 5 choices above the COP. Does it mean the system will auto assign the 2nd choice if 1st choice did not get in? Will the system allocate all the first choice first and maybe comes to our turn our second choice also filled up ? Not sure how the system allocate the school. Any idea ? Tks

The system will first sort everyone according to their t-scores first, and then go down the list one by one. The one with the highest score will get his/her first choice, followed by the 2nd top scorer and so on. This means that as long as your 2nd choice school is not the first or 2nd choice of students with t-scores higher than your child, your child should be able to get in. Anyone with t-scores lower than your child will be prioritised lower even if he/she specifies your second choice school as his/her first choice.
