Dear All

      Like to seek your advice.

If I register for the pri sch that is about 700m away from my house, but if it get too popular and if worst case I lose the balloting, do I still stand a high chance for the sch that is just across my house?

For both sch, I will be under Phase 2C (no siblings, alumni, PV etc) and i'll fall under the first category of less than 1km right?

Balloting results will be out within the same day right?

I am looking at pri sch in Punggol. Any parent in punggol too?

I am staying in Punggol also, and i have dragon twins to register this july!!!! >.< šŸ˜“

It is so tough to make a decision..
Mee Toh (within1 km, about 700m away) vs Edgefield Pri (across the road less than 200m), vs Horizon (within 1 km, about 700m away)
      Last backup plan: Greendale :scratchhead:
I wouldn't dare to dream about Mee Toh as i stay exceed 1 km and within 2 km, both Punggol View & Punggol Green are nearer to my place, any feedback on these 2? i have been monitoring past few years, think both also need ballot at 2C :yikes:

Just to add on, even if Chongfu is a good school by some parents' standard, it doesn't guarantee anything. My cousins went there but couldn't cope well enough and in the end it didn't amount to anything. My advise is also to get a primary school near your house as long commute will take its toll in the long run. IMHO, it's not worth it, unless you're aiming for other aspects such as affiliation to secondary school, which Chongfu doesn't have.
I totally agree with galaxyraider. Have seen many friends rent house, do PV, grassroots etc just to get into a \"good school\"... end up the kid has learning issues... so sometimes we really have to believe \"if you have it, you have it\"... even affiliation may not happen if the kid can't perform to the COP set by the school.

Perhaps a better option is to put the kid in a nearby school, see the results then transfer to a more academic stressful environment if he/she can cope.

While there's nothing wrong with this approach, it may not be workable. \"More academically stressful environment\" is more often than not, a code word for popular school.

Transfer is subjected to availability and typically, it's easier to transfer from a more popular school to a less popular school.

Of course, with any transfers, the more popular the school, the harder the fight. (but absolutely doable)

              OK bye for now...

Sorry to ask this silly question. If a school need to ballot in phase 2C <1km, does it mean those in phase 2C 1-2km will stand a lower chance and unlikely to get a place in the school? I am using grandparent's address to register so will fall under phase 2C 1-2km category.

If address is outside 1km, likely no chance to get into Chongfu. Even under 1km may need balloting. Best to have two or three other alternatives.

Me! Is there any latest review on the primary school at woodland as I believe Innova Primary school is still very hot. How about Woodland Ring Primary School or Woodland Primary school? Thank

me too I am staying in woodlands I am considering woodlands primary school. But still considering chongfu as well since I am a ex-student but I find tat my child will be tired šŸ˜ž Why innova hot wor? I was told woodlands primary school/admirately/greenwood are good sch.
I am staying in woodlands too! Previously moved from Ang Mo kio and have no idea about the primary schools in Woodlands. I am considering enrolling my son into Woodlands Primary , solely based on the fact that it's my husband's Alma mater and the chances of getting in should be high. My other preference would be greenwood because it is just beside ( literally beside ) my blk.
