I have a qns, my parents address is within 2km of CHIJ, can I change address for my girl? Is this legal?

You should use Onemap's school query, which is the standard MOE map to use. Do not use Elite map is not accurate.I hope to enrol my girl who is born 2014 to a pri school which has sec sch affiliation, unfortunately, my nearest CHIJ is 2.7km away, hence its over 2km
I qualify for RGPS 2A for her but there is no sec affiliation and this school is also too far for me. Im at boon keng.
I use this to find the pri schools near me. https://elite.com.sg/ enter your postal code.
Was thinking of Pei Chun, but they require over 80 hrs PV and no sec school affiliation too. -

If your parent(s) are not working, you can do a SD for them to be listed as caregiver, which will place your girl in the 1-2km bracket. Refer to MOE FAQ for more info.
However, you should be clear which CHIJ you are referring to? There are a number of CHIJs in Singapore.
Some will require balloting within 1km - which means you are out whether you do a SD or shift into your parent's place.
Some will require balloting within 1-2km - which means you still got a fighting chance.
Some don't require balloting for SC - which means you are safe even if you use your own address. -
Hi
I am keen to consider CHIJ Toa Payoh, its near lor 1 Philips. I realised from Onemap’s school query, its showing as 2km away, although its technically like 3km away. This CHIJ has a secondary school affiliation? -

The distance in Onemap is calculated as the crow flies.Hi

As with all CHIJ, this one has affiliation with a secondary school. However, you may have to look elsewhere or have a backup plan as there's a possibility that it will ballot in Phase 2C for < 1km. CHIJ TP has http://www.asiaone.com/news/edvantage/clans-schools-end-parent-volunteer-scheme so you won't be able to qualify for Phase 2B unless you start going to church. -

MOE will not care the exact 1.2km, 900m or 3km. It will be just are you within the blue circle, red circle or outside the circle.
Yes CHIJ TPY is affiliated to the Secondary and further affiliate to CJC. The current PSLE affiliation point benefits is like 20+ points, if I not wrong. However, the PSLE system will be totally different where there will be no more T-score, not sure how affiliation will work under the new system. Anyone knows ?? -

Under the new PSLE scoring and affiliation scheme, the benefit won't be that great IMHO.p0o9i8:

The school will set a criteria as per current arrangement but there will be a cut off at 80% of the sec 1 cohort. Which means even if 100% of the primary school students meet the criteria, once the sec school has filled 80% of the sec 1 cohort with the affiliated primary school students, the remaining students will have to look for another school elsewhere. -
I think filling up 80% of a sec school’s cohort with students fr affiliated primary school is a lot, I wonder if most sec schools fill up that proportion? Some of the better performing students may also choose to go to other higher-ranked sec schools instead of going to affiliated sec school.

Hi, the answer is here: http://m.todayonline.com/singapore/affiliated-schools-reserve-20-places-non-affiliated-students-2019-moe
\"in recent years, some 19 to 21 of the affiliated schools already admit more than 20 per cent of non-affiliated students each year. Only six to eight schools take in less than 20 per cent of non-affiliated students every year.\"
ACS will definitely be affected. Kudos to MOE for forcing the schools to open up more to outsiders. But that means I gotta coach my boy for his PSLE, cannot slack and just leech on the (previously) unconditional entry to the affiliated secondary school.
