you will probably see alot of people residing in the school compound if there is such category.

Hi Lexy, just wondering...do you know how the risk% is being derived for the competition in Novena area? Unless you know how many dragon babies are born from the same area that is already planning to compete for that primary school.

I dont know the exact number (and wont know ).

First of all between RMPS to SCGS/MGS - ermm i think the switch wont be too much of a change in terms of course work.

For 2C in short:
at 71% TUR for MGS at the end of 2A - all the years required balloting within 1km.
Similar at 71% TUR for SCGS at the end of 2A - all the years required balloting for folks within 1km.
Both school - best results since 2006 for 2C is balloting required for more than 2km (only 1 year out of those years). Will you want to give up your place in RMPS for virtually no chance or requiring balloting?

CHIJ Kellock is also not totally safe for >2km folks. need the phase 2B to end before it is clearer (perhaps?)

Rather than using your niece as a guage, and since its your (parents') old school, you need to gauge whether RMPS is suitable for your kid.

looks like my friend is indeed very lucky as her girl (living more > 5 km away) manage to get into SCGS through balloting in 2015.... I think this is probably the only year with more than 14 students living more than 2km successfully getting into this school.

If i were u, I will go for the ballot. As in 2A2, even if unsuccessful, u have nothing to lose. U can go forward with phase 2B and 2C so on.
Have a feeling u are being misled by the registration officer. Possible she/he probably \"lazy\" to process another applicant. Or they aim for the school not to ballot so discouraged the last day applicants not to register. This is human natural, is possible. So that is why the info provided to u at RMPS is different from MOE schs to be ballot site. I think the lesson learnt here for your case is to inisist u want to register. Be it whatever they discouraged.

i dun wan 2B to look forward and do not have much opt for 2C as it seems high chance for all the sch near me will face ballot too. cos i had an opt to go another sch for 2A2 (since husband n wife got 1 sch each haha) so end up i chose to go one tat no ballot for me. just upset coz it seems like a narrow miss for me anyway it could be blessing in disguise :)[/quote]Care to share which school you register in the end? I m hoping to register RMPS as its within walking distance from my house, but if there is more than 20 SC also living less than 1km, my chances of enrolling will be less? Not sure whether I should choose for 2nd option instead :roll:
