we haven't read of any article which mentioned so and so minister registered his/her child in a neighbourhood school which isn't branded. so how to walk the talk that 'all schools are good schools'?

Humans are selfish in nature. Do u think the Ministers would want to \"risk\" their kids future or chance at excellence by registering them at a school with low enrollment, and example \"4 out of 6\" p6 classes are Foundation classes. With bad PSLE passing rate with majority grad to Normal stream? It is the probability game. Most of us including the Ministers all hope and want the best start for our kids. Regardless it is a fair starting point or not, they will not risk their children's future. Unless they really believe in the system, then prove it to us commoners.

There is nothing wrong with the mantra, \"all schools are good schools.\" That statement is probably 99.9% true.

However, there's no point pretending that all schools are equal schools. Schools draw their resources from all over the place, not just the government. The better the support, the more likelihood that the kids will have a better head start. Sad, but true.

True story, there is a Principal in a neighbourhood sch, his son was in his own school in p1 but in p2, the P transferred his own son out to a more popular school nearby. Even the staff and parents within that school were gossiping about this. Why he has no confidence in the own school that he is a P of, must transfer his son to a "better" sch?

How do you check the no. of applicants and distance?

The only way is call up the school or go down to the school personally. Otherwise hope for some kind parents here to post it on KSP forum.

I tried calling one of the schools but they don't want to disclose unless I can provide child's queue number and name.

            skii:
            Thanks.

You are right, the extra 15 are also 1km kids.

And mine is not a daughter, thus we can’t go to rgps.

My priority is good but my distance of 1km is only good to use at that particular school.
I just saw the most scary white board.

            Haiz.

Let moe website shock us later la.

at 1.8X, it will be highest since 2006, some will be on the fence as well, some people will move to the other school and fill up without balloting. look similar to 2015. (but its currently 10 more applicants than in 2015)

i can only guess what you applied since you keep your cards close.

when you have that priority and if you also have distance priority for both schools, dont waste it on low balloting chance.
maybe some GRLs might withdraw and go for other schools today? keeping fingers crossed for u!

Heard from SHHK friends that the number of letters issued for the particular school equals to the number of vacancy of 2B (if that school has parent volunteers, then the number of letters will be the vacancy of 2B minus the number of PVs).

So the balloting will be dependent on the numbers of GRL.
can I ask the SHhK member , when did you get the confirmation from school that you are eligible/get letter to register 2B?

for kong hwa, my fren got the letter on last friday..

This sounds like the SHHK gave letter post the 2A2 result?
How many letter they gave for each school? Less than, equal to, or more than the available vacancy of 2B?

Thank you for your kind input
because Principal of that school doesnt want himself nor his son, to be the target of gossip, in his own school.

Being the Principal, everyone expect his son to do well. What if his son doesn't do well ?

Anyone know the quota for parents volunteer intake at south View? As of yesterday , 16 registered out of 20 seats? Does their PV include PR?

                    Thank you!

By transferring to a better sch, the P is alr putting himself a target of gossip. If he had transferred his son to another equally non popular \"neighbourhood\" sch, then people would shut up.
