Yes it’s true. Eg there’s 42 vacancies at TNS 2B this year, so Shhk release 42 letters only & the rest of competition would be GRL
Meaning to say, if there are 43 Shhk members going for TNS this year, 42 already clock at least 82 hours & min 2yr membership, the no43 person in the q who clock 81 hours will not get the letter.

And yes, there are people in the chatgroup who didn’t get letters. So 80hour is just a base, most people clock more than 100[/quote]Worth pointing out that SHHK will be changing their criteria in 2019:

For members whose membership application were approved before or on 6 December 2017
- Complete a minimum eighty [80] volunteer service hours with or through SHHK

What are the criteria to be recommended for Phase 2B registration?
A committee will be formed to review all applications nearer the date of registration.
Evaluation will be based on guidelines set by this committee and on a case-by-case basis according to its merit. One of the determining factors is tenure of membership.

There is no mention of this selection committee from 2019 onward

Anyway it’s almost impossible to even snag slots to clock hours. Apparently fingers have to be faster than 1min

Chongfu's parent volunteer application is now open, until 31 Oct 2018.

Download and complete it and either snail mail to the school or scan and email it back. Selection process is quite competitive so all the best!

Hong Wen School already 4 times oversubscribe for the dragon year. With the new BTO St George Tower TOP early next year which added 734 units, it will be a more competitive year for my horse boy.

For some strange reasons, SHHK found that i was an existing member but fail to pay my fees for a few years so they let me re-pay my membership fees and turns out i am a "senior" member with zero hours coz my mom signed me up donkey years ago. So yeah…i am eligible for phase 2b provided i can hit 80hours

For the dragon year P1 registration, it is very disheartening especially to see children cannot go to the neighbour just 5mins from their house. In the end, they have to travel quite a bit distance to the second nearer school. They have to wake up earlier every morning and create inconvenience to the parents too


PV is the easiest way to get priority queue especially in neighbour schools. I have a colleague commented that where got people go to neighbour school to do PV one?

PV is just 40hours which will take less than 10 days of the leave. It is better than 6 years of inconvenience
