UBKmom:
In terms of COP entry, there is a tie (3rd place), between Victoria JC and Nanyang JC
Without all JC/institutions increasing their full A level results, there is no way to determine the ranking, however, if you believe the results of HCI, RI and VJC produced by those 6 pointers and below, you must also assume or believe that NYJC's A level results should be equal if not better than VJC. The reason is that all students are the end product of our education system, the deviation between these 6 pointers and below cannot be too large or there will be a problem, its either the system or the school. If NYJC take in gems and produce trash, I dont think it popularity will improve year after year, words will travels and students are not stupid. Its good to have competition and we should give credit when it is due.abachee:
NYJC will never be a 3rd placing JC and never was.
They are now joint 3rd place as this year COP have change due to popularity of that JC.
Please take note that it is the school cohort A level results is the barometer that determines which JC is the best rank JC.
Yes, NYJC have done a good job marketing themselve to the public and able to draw few nett 6 & 7 pointers to the school. But if they were to be able to do that for the next few years comsecutively and go above VJC in terms of popularity COP.
Then we can acknowledge that they are 3rd rank JC in terms of COP which is also its popularity choice of the JCs among the PSLE students.
In terms of 2017 A-level Results, need more info, separate out info between Science stream & Arts stream, before one can determine -
Anyone knows is there a minimum O level English grade to enter top JCs like VJC or RJC since HCL can be used as L1? Thanks.

Wondering how the system works. My girl gotten seat in DHS which is her 4th choice. Her o results 8 points (12-4). Her third choice is acjc and the cop is 8. Maybe wants to take in more students that took HCL? :?

Probably miss by decimals at cop 8. -

There are some slight different in term of points calculation.
Eg.
Student A's L1R5=10 - 0 (Bonus pts = 0)
Student B's L1R5=14 - 4 (Bonus pts=4)
Student A will have priority over Student B. -

Maybe acjc last COP is ie. 11-3 (8 points nett) or 10-2 (8 points nett)
So in terms of merit, raw score of 10 or 11 is better than 12 points -
Do we parents need to accompany the kids to school reporting today? My girl insist no need.

Please don’t accompany your kid to school reporting today. They are 16 years old. Not 6 years old. You must give them face and train them to be independent. -

Quite likely its called partial 8 COP, so perhaps all the 10-2=8 would get in first over the 12-4=8 if Singaporean
