Affiliated Schools and their COPs

Reading my table, I am picking out those schools that have had an artificially low Express COP and a very fake round number (200 or 188) for 3 years in a row. These could possibly be the schools that will see their affiliated COP move upwards. The “201” is likely to be the true T score of the last affiliated student posted. No reason for them to fake a 201. But maybe the school took in ~99:1 affiliated:non-affiliated ratio.

I doubt MSS, KCPSS and SJC are at any risk of hitting the 80% cap anytime soon.
FMSS is definitely way above the 80% limit.

I think it’s more like none of their affiliated student score a zhun-zhun 200 points. Given that they could in quite a wide range of non-affiliated students, highly doubt that they are close to the cap.

From what I recall of the FMSS Principal’s briefing, I’m not sure whether it is way above the limit for Express Stream - can call the office to check. FMSS takes in quite a number of DSA students who are not from FMSP.

NA stream is over the 80% limit for sure.

Floppy, enlighten me please. How are u deducing that the affiliated:non-affiliated students in MSS, KCPPS and SJC are less than 80:20? Are u looking at the spread of T scores of the non-affiliates? And deducing that a wide range of non-affiliates were posted?

What if, example only, SJC took in only TWO non-affiliates, one had 237 and one had 249?

But another method, I think, is to look at absolute numbers. That means looking at the number of sec 1 students, take 80%, and then see the primary school cohorts. And start estimating from there.

Hihi! Can i clarify…the 20percent reserved for non-affiliated students,does it include NA,NT with Express? Or only 20percent of Express stream?

So far,from what i read,this is not clearly stated,or i may have missed something/misinterpreted in my readings:)
My next psle kid in 2 yr time does not have affiliation…checking for my niece in FMPS…

I don’t think MOE looks at it on a stream-by-stream basis (which in any case, would be irrelevant once the SBB comes into play). It makes more sense to be on a per cohort basis.

DSA has a limit of 20% of their cohort size for non-IP schools.
