Section B (open ended questions) for science

Hi parents, after attending the section B course for your child, did anyone sign up for their regular tuition class? Is it going to be enough to join the section B class and not need to attend their regular tuition and the results can improve?

Hi, some of the open ended course offers good follow-ups, the one my DD attended will send worksheets and marked with feedback, so they can be familiarized with the technique which i find good. From my research, not every course offers that.

I find the course sufficient but i still sign up for the tuition program as it's very good materials and my DD enjoys the experiments. -
Can tell us your child go to which course?

hi, we’ve attended CCE.education and continued on with their regular tuition. They are the only center with cognitive thinking skills and the 3 days holiday program i’ve signed up convince me that it works! . AS i see that questions are getting so hard these days, so having a class with cognitive thinking skills improvements will will benefit long term, that is what i hoped.

For primary school science, the techniques of answering section B is quite essential. There are many standard types of question like
1) what is the aim of the experiment?
2) How to setup a control?
3) How/ why for fair test questions?
4) How to increase reliability question?
Etc
Usually getting the child to be aware of such types of question and understand the thinking process to apply the proper techniques will help immensely in improving their scores -

unfortunately, it's not as easy as it sounds, everyone use CER, but most people in my DS's class still do badly. like reasoning, most people are not able to get the right reason.
Schools teach
C - Claim
E - Evidence
R - Reason
It's basic structure / process in science research. Nothing hard.
Keep it simple.

Hi, any parents who signed up for CCE’s open ended course joins the "Higher order thinking questions" as well?
is it worth it? Do any parents know if there are similar classes in other centers? -
