There is nowhere in PHS website that mentions external CCA is allowed. Perhaps you can contact the school to ask the Head of Department for CCA.
Does the school allow external CCA like Golf? My son is playing competitive golf for the last few years.

Hi all, I have a question regarding PHS as I’m a freshman planning on joining this school. How are the students like in the normal academic stream? Is it full of rowdy and mischievous students? I can manage a few maggots here and there, but too many would definitely affect my learning. It is my top priority to get into the Express stream and I need as minimal distractions as possible. The deadline to decide what school I’ll be enrolled is nearing, so replies by tomorrow would be greatly appreciated! :thankyou:
Like what some parents mentioned in some of the earlier posts of this topic, there are always a handful of mischievous kids in all streams of all schools including PHS. Traditionally, PHS places great emphasis on discipline. Moreover, it is a Mission school and has a pastor stationed in the school to befriend and counsel problematic students. Most parents of PHS students had feedback that PHS provides a good nurturing environment and most of its teachers are caring. I am sure the school and teachers would definitely not allow students’ learning to be affected especially for a reputable Mission school like PHS.
I would like to wish you all the best for your secondary school life.

I guess PHS feels bad to reject students who are very interested to enroll into the school but they need to go by the book to ensure fairness.
If I remember correctly, PHS is affiliated to SAJC since 1997 which was the year I graduated.
Is your DD posted to PHS? -

That's nice! I hope he has a fulfilling secondary school life at PHS.
I visited PHS Open House in November 2019. The existing campus look so different from the time when I was a student there. The teachers and students are friendly. -
my son didn’t get into this schl for the 2nd choice but we appealed though my son cop was 234 so I reckon no chance at all he was given 3rd choice near home.

Oh it is a pity to miss by 2 points. Anyway, I think your son has done pretty well. Anyway, getting a school near your house is good for him too. Are there any reasons why you prefer PHS over your 3rd choice school other than COP?

missed by 2 points, is a pity. It is so near, and yet so far, because No Appeal entertained, if do not meet COP

There is still chance in future, do not lose hope yet. Presbyterian High is a good school
Encourage your son to study hard, do well for next 2 years (Sec 1 and Sec 2)
One year later, at end of next year Sec 1, try to apply for Transfer into Presbyterian High.
If next year end still no vacancy, then
at end of Sec 2 ( in Year 2021), continue to apply for Transfer, into Presbyterian High. -

However, I wouldn't recommend the child to transfer school after 1 or 2 years when he has gotten used to the school environment. Unless there is strong reason to do so.
