        hahaha

so the naughty brother who rode off fast on the e-scooter might have gotten into an accident, knocked down someone, hence so late still never returned home. Sister looked at the wall clock, so late 7.30 pm already, brother still not back home, worried …

anyway, i didn’t expect Psle Chinese zuowen this year to come out something related to e-scooter
thought e-scooter normally fall under Oral, either under English or Chinese Oral, ie. talk only about e-scooter
But to fall under zuowen picture composition, to write a zuowen that centre around e-scooter, never expect, very first time encountered.
SEAB exam department really know how to spring surprises

Passed by the stall that sells all the schools’ past year papers. Realised not many past year papers for Sec 1 and even if they have, the schools are not the top schools. So no need to do past year papers anymore in sec sch?

Firstly, there is no mid year exams for sec 1 any more. Secondly, different schools may approach the syllabus / coursework differently ie some schools may put their emphasis on class test / projects as various checkpoints, while others may continue to rely on a final exam. Some schools may throw in more “thinking” questions, while others may be more straight to the syllabus.

Hence, benchmarking yourself against someone from another school is meaningless at this point. You could end up with a mismatch if you focus too much on other schools’ papers. It’s more important that you do better than your peers in the same school since choosing subject combinations will be based on your scores.

Yes ejmom, as floppy advised, you still Need to do past year papers (in order to ace the subject more easily), but those from your own school (should) suffice. Usually, school library has past copies (may come without answer keys, in which case you'd need your subject teachers' help to vet) which your child can loan to zap. Many schools are sticky about notes (copyrighted) & exam papers, & students are explicitly warned Not to disseminate (consequences could be demerit points etcetera), so...

I'm assuming when you mention \"top schools\", you are referring to HCI/ RI/ RGS/ NYGH? Well, these are IP schools, so the syllabus taught for each subject may be different among the IP schools or O levels schools. Thus, even if you have the test papers of these schools, they may not be relevant for your kid.
