Anyone who has attended Mindstretcher ‘Preparing your child for the PSLE’ workshop?

      Is it worth to attend?
Saw it on FB and was wondering if worth to go have a listen too. They didn’t indicate the price though.

I dont work for TLL, Academia, Wow or any other tuition centers.
They all have a one month notice for withdrawal and which is not uncommon among many other tuition centers that collect a deposit. The only one I know that you can withdraw without even telling them is one that does not collect a refundable deposit. Also, the “one month notice withdrawal in order to get back your deposit”, would have been explained to you in the t&c when you sign up.

To terminate giro arrangement with any organisation immediately, terminate at the bank’s side. Works for tuition centers, insurance companies, utility services, telcos, etc.
I quote myself here, I only wanted to address the issue about one month withdrawal and giro termination.

One month withdrawal is not an uncommon practice for tuition centers which collect deposits. Some require one calendar month, some require 4 lessons, some require a calendar month before the end of a term, which, to me, is very minor. But should it be a major concern to me, I would have familiarised myself with the withdrawal policy before signing up.

Giro termination with any organisation can be done immediately at the bank’s side. So no matter what kind of reason whichever organisation gives you regarding stopping giro arrangement before you can proceed to do anything you want to do, you go to the bank and terminate at the bank’s end. No need for all that grief. It is really quite straightforward.

I do not want to comment on lessons quality since my kid was the one attending the class and not me so it is not first hand info. Plus the fact that no kid is identical so something useful for one kid may not be useful for another one, even when both are sitting beside each other in the same class. One kid may reap more because he just came from home from a nap, and another kid may reap less because he was in 2 other tuition classes before this one. For every A star kid that a tuition center produces, there will be one who scored a C. Group tuition, to me, means everyone is grouped together and individual coaching is minimal. Which is why group tuition and private 1-to-1 tuition can co-exist, there is no better type, but which one suits you better.

'Preparing your child for the PSLE’ workshop?
Hi, I've read through the seminar synopsis - these look like areas the school/your enrichment centre (if applicable) would be able to advise (unless you've not had a chance to speak with them)?

My question is about the Parent and/or child workshops some centres run. Often they advertise that they have a “secret” formula and also they analyze the past paper . Does anyone have any feedback regarding those ?
