Based on chatgroup, 80+ SC all safe, likely 5-8 seats left for SPR<1km

Hi. I wonder how reliable the source of said chat group is. I mean how can they know.

Thanks Fatte. Yea its hard to say how reliable the group is. Perhaps someone has managed to find out the breakup from the school. In this case can't say how many of 101 are non-SC's.
Okay well, I guess all the best. I think it's quite a stretch that someone can find something like this out when all registration is online and not on site. What's in it for the school to even know the statistics, when they're not involved at all with these stages unlike previous years.

Brave souls in the group take turns to call in at different timings of the day
around 930/10am, after lunch, 4pm
I respect the effort, yet it's unclear to me why and how even the school staff may have this detail when they're mostly divorced and disengaged from the registration process which unlike previous years is only online this time.

Hi Experts,

Now in a dilemma to continue to try Henry Park which is within 1km with Pei Tong as 2CS backup.

OR

To try for Queenstown which is over 2km, which might end up no chance to ballot?

Any huge difference between Pei Tong and Queenstown? Queenstown seem to be getting popular the last 2 years.

Thanks in advance!

Judging from multiple chatgroups, there are kind school admins who will feedback on <1km, 1-2km, SPR applications. It has been fairly accurate for the last 2days in terms of overall applicants reported by school admin vs online.

Hi experts, we are at 4km from TKPS and are SC's. The school has 101 applicants (88 seats) as of D2. What are the chances of this going into ballot? Historically TKPS has not gone into ballot for SC's but its new campus seems to be gaining popularity!!Should I consider withdrawing and put my application in for OEPS which has 58 applicants (76 seats) as of D2. Thanks much.
If the groupchat numbers is correct, you may have to content with SC numbers within the PR numbers
Yes, traditionally all SC gets a spot with occasional balloting for PRs within 1km. TKPS dropped 40 spots since last year as compared to previous years.
Another fun fact: Last year TKPS applicants at Day 1 of walk in (like today) was higher than the final day
The numbers seem to indicate a balloting between PR within 1km or SC more than 2km.

Sch admin, Group Chat and even in a forum like this, how much trust do you really place? Do you tilt towards being sceptical or its a leap of faith? At the end of it, if you dont trust, dont do that route. Alot of view can be alot of noises, you have to decipher between relevant info and noises.

For myself I helped more people that i do not know (like in here) than the people I know personally (effectively), sometimes i feel part of the reason is some people here really need help and came to this forum and got the answer that they need while on off-forum setting, my views actually weigh the same as anyone on the streets (to my family and friends).

Another part of the reason, is the decision and making choice, fixated or stubborn. This topic is for another day.

If you look at the new BTOs and condos surrounding QTPS, plus the flow over effect from Alexandra primary, Queenstown seems to be one of the backup choice (catchment etc), it explain some demand.

I wonder if you have considered clementi primary (since you place Pei Tong as 2Cs backup) which is likely to be within 1km as well as alternative in 2C or 2Cs. In clementi primary, for 2Cs you will be competing with the flow over from Nanhua 2C folks (Likely SC balloting within 1km for 2Cs). It may sound odd but people seem to go for Nan Hua in 2C, then 2Cs clementi primary then if failed, let MOE place them in Pei Tong before phase 3 starts.

Anyway, what I was trying to say is that Clementi Primary or Pei Tong has lesser risk and lesser number movement than Queenstown for you due to your distance.

Then going to your first choice, ask yourself if you are content with the balloting odds in Henry park then.

I suggest to try Henry park since it is the nearest, couldn’t prevent it’s hot ballot. 2CS schools are on par which you can apply, Clementi, Pei Tong, Bukit Timah, New Town

My opinion would be similar to Lexy and Davischew.

Queenstown at your distance, not very safe due to increasing demand from the <1km new properties near there.

2C: Henry Park

2CS: choose either BTPS or Clementi Pri (whichever is nearer for you)

after 2CS and before phase 3: MOE will either allocate you to Pei Tong or New Town (whichever is nearer for you)

Lol a good friend of mine was one of those you described: tried Nan Hua in 2C, Clementi Primary in 2CS, then failed and was assigned to Pei Tong. I guess it's a logical move cos there is no loss to try Nan Hua - if failed, you will end up with either Clementi or Pei Tong which are not much different.
