How to help my kids to develop a good hobby ?

Try going into different categories, like sports or arts (in the term of crafts) or performing arts! I’m sure they would stick to and love one of the activities and can take up as a hobby!

I think you could talk to her and ask her what she really likes and let her explore to a wide variety of activities available

Its based on their character. Each kid have different abilities. Almost after 5 they will find their own hobby. Don’t restrict them and say don’t do this ,that and all. Let them find their own. Only give them right tips if they are on wrong path.

All children have different choices and different hobbies. You cannot force them anything regarding hobbies. All you can do is make out what things they like to do or are interested in and then motivate them to do something in that field.

I was born in a family with a kiasu mother. When I was young, my mother sent me for courses ranging from Calligraphy, violin, piano, painting, swimming, wushu and a few dozen others.
It became so bad that she had to resort to physical punishment to force me to attend/excel in these "hobbies". Eventually , My dad had to step in to stop the nonsense.
I believe what’s important is to understand what your kids enjoy doing and to participate with them along that journey. Be involved and genuinely enjoy the process. -
My DD is into baking big time. I am not sure if it is considered a good hobby because the rest of the family is become fat from eating her creations ! ; )

Reading!
They read almost anything and everything they lay their hands on, so long there are words. Any theme or genre. Fiction, non-fiction, magazines
Speed read too. Devour a Chinese chapter book in 1.5 hour. A thick English book like catching fire finished in an hour & half.
Those books they like, they will read over and over again, easily a dozen times.

Kids do start showing signs of being better in certain specific areas from a young age. For example, my parents noticed my interest in drawing from a young age of 3, and bought me lots of drawing books and sent me to enrichment drawing classes to hone that talent!
Same goes for my friend; she started noticed her DS displaying particular interest in plants from an early age (I know right, PLANTS. How unusual.) and gave him some potted plants, digging spades and children's gardening books to experiment with! Now he's pretty much an expert at gardening and knows all sorts of things about plants, to the extent of learning about photosynthesis and science-related facts about greenery that kids only learn in Primary school. Quite amazing!

well it depends on their age, interest and personality. if you see early on that they like to read, then give them lots of books. i get my books from http://www.noqstore.asia, it's cheaper compared to retail stores.
reading would be great hobby to start with, they can learn more while having some fun imagining worlds and characters.
