after reading so many post and based on my past experience of home tutor, i don think its easy to find a good home tutor because one thing they do not have quality controlled, unlike tuition centre their course are more structured n controlled.

i don think children can afford the time to try diff tutors…jus my 2 cents…

There are many tutors around but how many can actually teach effectively and motivate the child?

          blackberrycck,

totally agreed with you.How much time a child has to keep trying and changing tutor?worst of all, some tutors cannot teach and its actually wasting the child'time too.

Good tutor very hard to come by.Also chemistry between a child and tutor is impt too.

Tuition centre has structure material and lesson, only draw back is no individual attention as it caters to children of different pace.

Another concern is if you are unlucky, you may face someone who is busy on checking and replying SMS during the tuition.

which subject and how often? I guess for Chinese it is possible to need to double check once in a blue moon because sometimes there can be more than one answer. My own personal opinion is that especially since science is so hard nowadays and pri sch science is basically following the syllabus sometimes it can be hard for non sch tchers or specialists to pinpoint what the questions are testing. Or maybe that's why i don't teach science.

the subject that i mentioned is science. So terrible, the tutor can only explained one answer and that is from the back of the book and when further question is asked, the tutor just acted blurr and go on to something else.To her, science must memorise.
