I started the purge this past weekend 😆

Here was one link/request posted earlier by someone else. Can also pass on to friends/co-workers.

For papers (worksheets) i am putting them into box and will place in recycle bin.

Waiting my DS to come back from HMT paper and will start clearing his room. Been tolerating for the past 2 weeks. Can’t even see his table surface, all buried under papers. 😓

May keep his prelim papers and perhaps some of the mt and en compo that he has done.

We have very limited assessment books. Will keep those for his younger sis.

And to the q why the moz died?

              I think it’s because lack of O2.

But some kids may think there’s tube that connects the faeces bowl (open air) and the container, so O2 can still go in & out, which is correct.

So how the moz died due to lack of O2?
I guess it’s because of the methane, which is the main gas of poo. The CO2 alone wouldn’t be enough to kill the moz I guess.
But couple with CH4 that reacts with O2, displacing O2 thus change it to CO2 and H2O. Result in more more more CO2 and reducing O2 at the same time.

But, this knowledge isn’t avail for primary students I believe. So in a sense, the q isn’t "their level".

Just my 2cents. Praying hard the examiner would be generous.

Yes, unless u have younger siblings or cousins yet to do Psle,
otherwise either donate or throw away all those Psle stuff + assessment books,
so as to make (create) space, clear book shelf cupboard space to prepare the much needed precious required space, for your new Secondary education.

                  I think it's because lack of O2.

That sorta question isn't even at my level 😞

I oftentimes wonder what SEAB/MOE is thinking when they come up with questions like this one.

The above will result in a "quick" death.

Alternate answer which is "not so quick" is simply died due to lack of food & water.
But both answers I am not sure.

From what my dd described, the question shows a man taking a dump outdoors. There is a tube from the waste to a container and the diagram mentions gases passing thru the tube into the container. Question asks
                      1. Why are mosquitos attracted to the waste?
                      2. When mosquitos go thru the tube to the container, why don't they survive?
                      3. Name another living thing that produces the same type of gas and what is the process called?

From the above questions and the fact they mentioned gases... I think the gas they talking about here is Co2. Mosquitos are attracted to Co2, when they go thru the tube, there is no oxygen in container so they die. Living thing that produces Co2 is animal/plant through respiration process.

That's what I think... dunno correct or not!
mine said that for the portion on point 2, it was mentioned in the question that air can enter the tube, so its not dying because lack of oxygen.

May I ask HMT compo questions and the overall paper difficulty?
