      From 2022 COP,

      these are my finding(s) :-

      1)

For six IP (SAP) schools, like

      ( Dunman High /
      St Nick /
      Nanyang Girls’ High /
      Catholic High /
      Hwa Chong /
      River Valley High ),

      Yes,
their COP must include a tag
      ( Pass / Merit / Distinction ),
      because

      these are IP schools.

      2)

But for the " O-level track " SAP schools, like

      a) Nan Chiau High, no tagging,
      just a simple 12

      Because

All NCH students admitted in, compulsory to take Sec 1 HCL, even if have never done PSLE (HCL) before. So, u still need thus tagging for what purpose ?

      No need,
because school NCH Chinese department already overide !

      b) Chung Cheng High, no tagging, just a simple 11

      The same reason, as NCH.
Compulsory for all CCHM students, to start Sec 1 HCL. So, u still need this tagging, for what ?

      No need !

      c) St Nick, no tagging, just a simple 8

Those who have received MOE HCL letter, can start Sec 1 HCL.

Those who didn’t receive the MOE HCL letter, cannot do Sec 1 HCL,
      just do pu-hua.

      But,
if St Nick students want to start Sec 2 (HCL),
      then,

      do well in your
      Sec 1 (pu-hua + core subjects).
If can achieve this, then at end of Sec 1, Chinese HOD (St Nick) will give you the chance,
let u start Sec 2 (Higher Chinese).

Actually Nan Hua High also did not have a HCL alphabet behind their COP for this year and last year.

Actually I think there is no ( ) for HCL score at the end of the COP is because the COP happens to be at the 12 grade, hence, all those with 12 points and took HCL with Pass and above have been accepted into the school. So the next batch is those grade 12 with no HCL.

Those with grade 12 will have priority before 11 (D).

Yes, the ( ) has nothing to do with IP or non-IP. It’s a SAP thing. Hence, it’s possible that SNGS IP may have a COP of 8 one day, if the last student admitted is 8 points without HCL. FWIW, NCHS last year’s COP is 12(D). Thus, a 12 point this year will be a slight drop in COP.

Assuming the COP is exactly at 12 points without HCL, the priority will go like this
11 before 12 (D) before 12 (M) before 12 (P) before 12. The explanation by MOE is as per below:

Students who obtained Distinction, Merit or Pass in HCL and have a PSLE score of 14 or better (i.e. PSLE score ≤ 14) will be eligible for posting advantage when applying to SAP schools.

If multiple students with the same PSLE score apply for the same SAP school, those with better HCL grades will be allocated a place ahead of other students. This applies before the tie-breakers.

If I remembered correctly I read somewhere on facebook that their L1B5 average is 10.1. It was mentioned in a reply by a parent.

:yikes: What's the point of giving homework if you are not going to mark it. Sounds more like recommended \"readings\" 😂

Actually it's not the teachers' responsibility to chase ..... secondary school liao. Submission of HW is low not just happened to NC only. Even IP schools r facing that too.
