Use of correction-tape allowed in PSLE?
-
Oh no, so is it allowed but discouraged or straight out not allowed? :?:

That's why I'm still very doubtful about this. It is not spelt out in moe's website but some schools give such instructions while others don't. I've checked the 1st booklet issued by moe and nothing mentioned in it.

From what I know, they allow you to use correction tape but better to use the better quality type. So that it would not get accidentally erased off if the tape sticks to another side of the paper. Also they discourage it because some children forget to write their answers. But it is allowed. I have a friend who is a primary school teacher teaching p6 and this is what she said.
I think if it is a directive to say absolutely no correction tape is allowed, the teachers or schools would send out a letter. But from what I know, students can use it just have to be extra careful. -
Thanks, singapore45. This makes sense to me. How about ball point pen? Is it a must to use ballpoint pen only? My child is using one of the Pilot series and that is not ballpoint pen. They call it ‘gel’ pen.

Use of correction tape is strongly discouraged. Use of pencil too.

My elder boy sat for PSLE last year, went into the exam hall armed with Plus Wiper correction tape and Pilot G-Techmatic gel pen.
Discouraged, use at your own risk. -
Thanks, Jennifer. That’s what I need. cheers

My dd’s school told them that NO GEL PEN is allowed…use ballpoint pens only. but there’s no mention about correction tape.
