She wakes up at 6am and leave home at 6.35am. Her HCL tr is very hardworking - has been giving them lessons at 6.45am every Mon-Fri. At 1st was oral, now compo, I think. At 1st, it was optional for weak pupils like her but now, whole class turn up!

She has been rather tired last 2 wks, cough for a few days. So those days, she did take longer afternoon naps, esp after taking the cough medicine. Most of the time was power naps (15-30min) or no naps at all, so can sleep early.

I see… So nice of her HCL tr. I always tell my ds it is very important to have good teachers. His class is very unlucky as they are under the same irresponsible (comments fr all parents I’ve spoken to) form teacher fr P4~P6. Mine usually has 1.5hrs of afternoon nap so he goes to bed ard 10.30~11pm and wakes up at 6am. Guess it shld be sufficient so long as they hv at least 8hrs of sleep per day.

I also thought 8 hrs should be sufficient but an article recently on Straits Times mention tt they need at least 8.5h of sleep.

Guess tt tr has her reputation to maintain. She really works very hard. But there is only 1 of her. She questioned me why my dd is in tt class, since her Ch is one of the weakest. She thinks if my dd can get A, it will be v good. She's is helping her classmates get A*. I told her if she gets A, I'm very happy already. But honestly, my dd has seen her CL marks improved every term this yr, she got her 1st A for CL in prelims. DD really appreciates the hard work tr puts in and she also tasted the fruits of her own labour. She no longer asks me for help in Chinese as I really couldn't help her anymore 😞 HCL is so very difficult!

Can understand how you feel 😄 The greatest satisfaction of a mother is to see her child grow and taste the fruits of her own labour. Is she working very hard for the coming exam and is she very stressful now? How do you avoid adding to her stress?

My nephew never likes to study, good in math and sci, languages are on the weaker side.

Just this year, his mum send him to private tuitions and enrichment centre for each subject, eventhough he is good in math and sci.

Probably that is the way the mum see as running for the last lapse. Not sure mummy did the same thing here.

I see him very relax for coming psle…still play games, go outings with parents, can off whole sunday. His parents not able to manage him, so leave him with the tutors and enrichment centre. Now, as it is, schools also gives lots of papers.I guess the fittest survive.

                  Hi Joy

It’s quite difficult to say now and most probably we will have answer when our children are on P6 next year.

                    Hi Brenda ,

True and its very interesting to see how his mum told me about her investment.

Not many people dare to do it this way tho.

My DS keep waking up in the night. I asked him why but he couldn’t give me a reason. I asked whether he worries for his exam, he said no. Asked is it the room too warm or too cold, he said no. He said he just wake up for no reason. Any idea how I can help him to sleep well. I give him Chicken Essence everyday, scare he may feel tired during the day.

Your son is stressed, his mind still active, thinking of exams so can’t sleep.

I only give chicken essence on exam day or weekends. I am afraid too much essence will be heaty as well as can’t sleep at night.
