      MMM:
      Yes battery life sucks...

Was having a training yesterday and does not have access to power point/ laptop...

All I did was to check emails, share price and did some sms.... By 5pm, it was down to 20% though I started with full batt in the am. I saw it reducing by 1% every few minutes.

As I was having training, I even lowered the volume and didn't switch on vibrate mode as that will consume even more power. Blue tooth is off all the time unless I need it.

At the end of the day, I went to buy a portable mobile charger that allows me to power up to 60%. So now I carry this portable mobile charger with me all the time for contingency.

For me, I carry another hp (my personal line). So I am not overly concerned if my batt really died on me. But it's unthinkable... imagine someone with only the iphone but had to look for public phone because the battery is flat. :x πŸ˜›
You can check if these settings are always ON because they can consume up battery if set to ON. I would only set ON when I want to use these features.

      Notifications
      WIFI
      Location services

And if you are using OS4, please remember to clear those applications you have used. If not they would be running \"behind\". A quick double click of the round home button, click and hold on one of the applications, you would see the cross X. Delete them one by one.

Excellent point, I have ever exp my battery life drop from 75% before I sleep to 15% when I wake up 6 hrs later.

          Mrs Ang:

You are using which generation of iPhone? The battery life of iPhone4 is much better than previous generation.
I am using iphone 4. Maybe my benchmark is against my mobile phone that can last for several days without charging.

MMM, I think your benchmark is for non-touch screen phones. From my understanding, most touch screen phones are not possible to achieve your benchmark.

Other things you can set to reduce the battery usage
Brightness in settings, do not use Auto-Brightness and set at a comfortable brightness. Mind is slightly lower than half bar.

Autolock - I set to 1 min. If you set to never, the screen is always on and it would definately consume battery.

Another tips for good battery practice. Do this once a month - Try to use your iphone till it off by itself (totally flat), then go for a full charge.

Actually I read in some place, the best to charge is when it reach 40%, this is to maintain good battery life. During weekends when I don’t go out, I would do that.
