Cannot write so short. 2 marks means 4 points. So must write long long :
I think only B WILL germinate.shirley.tamzil:
Need help with the below:
http://postimage.org/image/2f05v93r8/
A will not germinate because no water.
C will not germinate because no oxygen.
A will not germinate because there is no water (1st pt) and seeds need water to germinate (2nd pt)
C will not germinate because there is no oxygen (3rd pt) as boiled water does not have dissolved oxygen (4th pt) and seeds need oxygen to germinate (5th pt)
Write like that can get A* one.
(no offence please, just being in a crazy mood ) -

[/quote]Thanks for the A* answer. But the answer sheet says only A will not germinate because there's no water. No mention of C. :?

If it is school's answer, can clarify with teacher. If it is those from vendor I think they might have make a mistake. C should be inside - we boil water to remove air and add oil to prevent air from dissolving in the water.

Anyway, from the marks allocated, it is in a way a hint that there are more than 1 set up.

Hi starlight1968sg
..... because her mum can't teach at all.
Don't say like that. I also learn on the \"job\" (a total of 12 years - glad it is over).
Anyway, an important note : remind your dd to put in basic mundane information that she thought need not be added because the marker should know e.g. seeds need water to germinate. (this is important because without this information, it does not make sense why no water will affect the germination of seed)
Many times we missed out such basic information and lose mark for nothing.
Cheers -
Good to all P6 pupils out there in the PSLE! :xedfingers:

In terms of knowledge with regard to living things, students are expected to know the charcteristics of living things that can commonly be found in SG, including those that can be found in our bird park, auqarium and zoo. Molly is a common fish in SG. Even if it's not mentioned in the textbooks, students are expected to know.Hi, as a parent with a boy in P4, I just read that 2 days ago. Yes Molly is a fish which gives birth to its young, similar to swordtail, guppy. Read that in the notes in an assessment book so who can say assessment books are not useful!
The new science exam format is definitely more challenging than my time( which is like 30 years ago). No more - give the definition...what is required for a process...It now involves lots of experimental set ups and the kids are tested on the principles on what they have learnt from inference. Interesting but tough for a young kid therefore I have arrowed my hubby with the job of tutoring my kid in Science

The clothes hanger will tilt because the metal rod, as heated, expanded in mass, so it is heavier than before, thus tilting. -
Dear Muffins,
Thanks for your quick reply. But the problem is that my dd is taught in school that there is no change in mass when the object expands or contracts. When I surf the web for answers, I got a mixture of yes and no. Some sites say mass will increase, some say remain the same. :? Confused.
Muffins:
Hi.
The clothes hanger will tilt because the metal rod, as heated, expanded in mass, so it is heavier than before, thus tilting.
