DILEMMA_MUM:

IF U R INTERESTED IN SENDING YR KID TO THIS SCHOOL PLS GO FOR THE OPEN HOUSE ON 30/10 THIS SATURDAY & CHECK OUT WITH THE SCHOOL DIRECTLY REGARDING CCAS.

CUT OFF POINT BEEN DECLINING --
BUT IF U ASK ME THERE IS ALOT OF COMPLUSION. DONATIONS, ATTENDING CHAPEL & CCAS. REALLY TOO MUCH FOR OUR KIDS TO HANDLE. THERE IS MORE THAT MY GIRLFRIEND HAD SHARED BUT ITS TOO........ I REALLY HAVE NO WORDS TO SAY.
I HAVE 3 KIDS AND I DON'T WISH THEM THIS AT ALL. I JUST WANT THEM TO ENJOY LEARNING AND SCHOOL LIFE.

Thanks for sharing,hope you'll share more as one will not know much in the open house.The staffs and students will definitely say nice things about the school.

MY GF GOT THE SUBJECT COMBINATION OPTIONS. NOT MUCH CHOICES EITHER. SO SAD FOR HER

I feel that judgement cannot be make based on 1 person. My son is in sec 1 this year and he is very happy in the school. In fact he looks forward to having CCA and Chapel.


I too collected the report book and was not "FORCED" to buy the anniversary book. In fact, during the mid-yr PTC, the form teacher is not so concerned on my son’s result but is concerned that my son seems not to be adapting to sec school life.

PHS is a missionary school therefore do not get 100% funding from MOE to build the Indoor Sports Hall hence the need for fund raising.

Most "GOOD" sec school student need core CCA in order to earn CCA point not only PHS.

And yes the discipline is rather strict like detention for the smallest mistake or 1 minute late for school. Their punctuality is monitored by scanning their ezlink when they "book in/out". If your child did not book in on that day, a SMS will be immediately sent to your mobile.

most sec schools have the following :


1. ban handphone use in school premises, else confiscate

2. strict penalty for being late, long hair, illegal uniform modification,

3. compulsory CCA - students must learn to handle both acad and non-acad stuff, part of growing up process

4. choose the school with eyes open - this is a mission school, chapel session is expected

5. mission school - not a gov’t school, hence fund raising is expected but there is no compulsion on minimum amount to be raised by the students

6. if the school can’t raise the amount, the church may have to top up, or delay the project till fund is raised. fund raising is also good learning process for the kids

Their robotic team was World Champion.

Realise that there are tons of school holiday homeworks in almost all subjects, all to be submitted by term 1 week 1. I think my DS don't even know about it. Worst is marks will be included in CA1 2011. OMG!!!

Hi, I am considering PH for my daughter sitting for her PSLE this year. May I know any parents out there with children in the school to share their experience (academics, teachers, discipline etc) especially those in the girls’ volleyball team?
