When I see maids now, my hair stands. TOUCHWOOD that I don’t need to employ another one…these women are not of help (ok not all of them)…instead they cost money to maintain.

Now I have 2 toilets to use…when I had maids, they made my kitchen toilet so unpleasant that I just don’t go in…hanging their underwear like national flag. Disgusting.

Recently i bought a Dyson city, really ex but worth all the price. The sunction is really good and i ended using it not only to vacuum areas that irobot can't reach but for vacuuming shelves, fans, windows, beds and sofas. Save me lots of time from dusting and wiping. Its also really small and light, so i actually carry the vacuum cleaner around the house.

Hi, I would like to know how much u bought for the irobot? Is it good? I'm maidless.. ALWAYS OBJECT of getting 1. Have 2 kids looking after them myself = House very dirty + dusty.

I tot of investing in one to keep the floor clean. NO time for cleaning + tidy up.

        thanks in advance 😄

I also hope I do not need to employ maids anymore. They do more harm than help lor (except for the rare few, and I mean rare lor.).

hi all, I am also a SAHM now that my maid of 4 years went back in May. I enjoy all the privacy, the cleaniness, the "need-not-see black face" days anymore.

When was reading the posts, I can fully relate to all that. To add on, need not see the "plug-a-earplug" maid walking around the whole day. Just cannot understand why they have endless topics to talk about.

As for the mop, I swear by the spin mop, now cannot live without it now. Well, still sourcing around for a good vacuum thou, anyone to recommend? Prefer the water based one.

You allow ear-plug for music and hp chatting? I found tt irritating and told maid (with me for 8mths) to stop b4 it becomes a habit.

I also started using Spin and Go - not too bad, pail heavy though. With this, my 6yr old and 10 yo help me to mop the floor too 🙂 However, must sun the mop head, if not, funny smell 😞 It certainly makes mopping so much easier, but the replacement mop head is also expensive, around $16 each.

Heard tt Dyson vacuum cleaner is good. I'm using Rainbow - love it too. Mine is 15yr old - inherited from my MIL, but very well maintained. I almost wanted to get from Karcher too - not too expensive.

Well, in her first year with me, no hp at all. She only started with the ear-plugging in the 4th year, after she returned from her home leave end of 3rd year. I cannot stand it too, told her off many times, but what I get is more black face. Subsequently i gave up, since she is going back. Anyway, no more such days ....

Do you know where to get the Dyson vc? Is it ex?

Do you think those steamer is good?

                  mambo,

with kids, i’m not too sure how useful will the irobot be. I have 3 kids and need to put/pack their toys, mattresses, hub’s wires away b4 i can run irobot. So in a way, i can’t really use the schedule program. I bought it from overseas, plus shipping comes up to around $600.

                  Dyson VC,
it can be found in major appliance stores like Best, Harvey Norman and Courts. I paid around $700+ for my Dyson city, the price range is between $600++ and $800++. My house is already so packed with my kids and hubby’s stuff, so i refuse to get a big VC to lug around. The sunction is really good, it can even suck off hair stuck on the floor mat. I hated it the last time when i need to sit in the toilet and slowly brushed and scrubbed all the hairs stuck on the mat.

I bought a steam cleaner from Karcher many yrs back when my youngest was just born. It is very handy when you need to clean their vomit or urine stain on the mattress or whatever stain on fabric. My sis rented her apartment to a fussy angmo who insisted tt her sofas be steam-cleaned as the previous tenant had a baby. I did it for her and he was very happy with the results. The agent thought I was from some cleaning company! I also use it to mop the floor. However, the floor needs to be vacuumed first before steam cleaning. I looked at the osim steam cleaner cum vacuum but didn't quite like it - heavy and bulky. I would go for a compact vacuum cleaner too.

hi, may i know how does the Karcher steamer looks like? is it the handy type or the vc type? How much does it costs\"

                      Dyson VC
                      Is this water-based?

Saw a type of steam cleaner that looks like a mop, not sure if it's good.

Now, sourcing for handy helpful that can lighten my housework, esp on the cleaning part. In any case, even with a maid, home has never been cleaner now... :? Perhaps, being our own home, you tend to put in more effort and time to clean.

                        TIA!
