Really appreciate your prompt reply! Is there other better choices? Thank you in advance

Not sure where you are located, so not sure if my suggestions would be too far for you. Here they are, not in any order though :

Anglican High
Chung Cheng Main
Bukit Panjang Govt High
Fairfield Methodist
Nan Hua
St Margaret's

This link might be of some help ....

But EESIS COP for 2008 was 263 whereas in 2010 it's down to 260. Therefore the performance of students in 2010 is weaker in 2010 than 2008. Hence, I would expect COP of RGS this year to be about 259 and not in the region of 265.

I agree with your RGS COP estimate, maybe it might be 260, but certainly not 265. EESIS is the best indicator of the top COPs. I think in 2007, RGS COP was 266 vs 264 EESIS.

First thing first, where do you stay? West, etc etc? Not all schools with a COP of 210++ is a lousy school. In my experience, I'm in a T-score 210++ school, and my class/school mates are one of the most hardworking people I've ever seen, it really depends on the individual.

area- Bishan, AMK or Toa Payoh. Sorry, please don't feel offended. I mean I need school with less \"ah beng\". After seeing news on gang fights, I'm worried.

As mentioned earlier. With 210, can try Peirce Sec. Definitely not 'gangster school' because the discipline there is strict.
Thank you for your advice. OK, will check up school profile. At least, one school on list now...sourcing for 2-6th schools... πŸ™

\"COP for most schools should be higher this year\" - appreciate if you can elaborate the reason. πŸ˜„

Just my observation over the years.

When the papers are easy, top scorer will be around 280. When 1 or more papers are killer, top scorer will be more than 285.

When papers are easy, COP for RGS is about 265 and when there is a tough paper, COP for RGS is about 262.

I think it has got to do with the \"spread\" or standard deviation. When paper is easy, the spread will be smaller so many students will be bunched together in the range of 250 to 275.

I share the same analysis as you in general. Although I'm wondering now - in 2008 and 2010, both years had easy papers. But EESIS COP for 2008 was 263 whereas in 2010 it's down to 260. Therefore the performance of students in 2010 is weaker in 2010 than 2008. Hence, I would expect COP of RGS this year to be about 259 and not in the region of 265.
thanks jtoh and atutor2001. can only say both of your comments make sense.

Parents excercise your choices wisely. Value added is the most important criteria for selection of neighbourhood schools. For high scorers your top choice must not exceed 2 pts from your T-score and your second choice must be in line with your grade.

Don't mean to be a damper, but it is VERY risky to put Cedar as your first choice. Cedar's COP was 246 last year.

I don't know where are you located, but other schools that you can try would include :

Tanjong Katong Girls
Tanjong Katong Secondary
CHIJ Toa Payoh
CHIJ St Joseph's
Zhonghua
Dunman Secondary

Yes, I realize its VERY risky too and am in deep dilemma, that's why seeking advice out here! and thanks for confirming that!

PS. I forgot to mention she has Merit in HMT (add 2 pts) if SAP sch

Staying in Serangoon. Chung Cheng is not a problem in terms of traveling (via CC line) --- is this the next best option?

Wow!!
What about the COPs for other schools? do they typically drop too?
Kindly check this forum inside Kiasu parents :

2010 PSLE: EESIS (top 3%) and 3rd Lang (top 10%) COP

we all believe that 2010 COP will drop because the PSLE papers for 2010 were easy.
