      Hi all,

Just want to clarify. For this year Psle batch, if we want to join the VJ IP programme in 2013, do we need to join CEDAR or can we join MGS.

My son’s agg is 243 but he wants to go to VS. Do you think he should try? What are the chances of appealing? Thanks!

what aspect are you looking at between cedar and st nicks? results? environment? these 2 schs are comparable in results. COP st nicks is slightly higher because of pri sch affiliation.

Not necessary I think. They said you can choose to enter the IP in 2012 at the end of sec 2. You can check the IP faqs just too be sure.

246 might be a bit risky for Cedar. Last year's cop for cedar was 246.

I wonder anyone has any comments on VS? My son has put VS as first choice follow by Anderson Sec. He scored 260 for his PSLE Exam.

VS as first choice might be a waste. With 260, he can qualify to any IP schools easily.

                      good qn.
vjc ip accept 150 per yr
for 2013 - 50 from vs and 50 from cgs...means left 50 places for all other schools...
perhaps someone can give better info..

I had earlier clarified with the sch, I believe u need to be part of Cedar/VS to be in the integrated pgm for the curr P6's. Oso those selected for the IP pgm will no longer move to the VJC at Sec 3, instead they will stay put in Cedar/VS till end of Sec 4 (but no need to do Olvls), then move on to VJC for 2 yrs for their JC pgm.

This is part of the FAQ fr vjc website
                      http://www.vjc.moe.edu.sg/vip/faq.html

                      4. My child is in Primary 6 this year. If he/she wants to join the integrated programme currently offered by VJC, does he/she have to join VS/CGSS next year?
At the end of 2012, VS and CGSS will select eligible Secondary 2 students to be part of the integrated programme at Secondary 3 in 2013. If your child is in Primary 6 now, he/she can join VS/CGSS in 2011 and by the end of 2012, he/she can apply for the integrated programme. If successful, he/she will be part of the integrated programme in 2013 leading to the ‘A’ levels in VJC.

                      5. My child is in Primary 6 this year. If he/she does not go to VS/CGSS in 2011, will he/she still have the chance to join the integrated programme offered by VS/CGSS/VJC when he/she is Sec 3?
VS/CGSS (not VJC!) is open to accepting eligible applicants for the integrated programme at the end of Sec 2.

                      6. My child is in Primary 5 this year. How is he/she affected by the changes?
VS and CGSS will offer the integrated programme to Secondary 1 students starting in 2012. If your child is currently in Primary 5, he/she will be able to join the 6-year integrated programme in 2012 leading to the ‘A’ levels in VJC in 2017.

                      7. What are the selection criteria for the integrated programme offered by VS/CGSS/VJC?
The details are still being finalised. We will publicly announce the details once they are available. For current Primary 6 students, you must first enrol in VS/CGSS in 2011 to qualify for the integrated programme in 2013.

Thnks for the reply. He went to CHS open hse but he doesn’t like it at all. The facilities over there are pretty old. Hence, he decided to go for VS.

My worry is IP School might be too pressurise for him.
