The only danger is cop of Maris may rises to 234 same as yr son’s score for easy understanding. What are the chances? Nobody knows at this stage. Then someone who has placed Maris as their 1st choice having identical T-score as yr son gets the priority.

        Hi all,

Need some advise here ... :?:
My ds got 234 and he wants to appeal to SJI, so I'm thinking of putting :

        1st - SJI
        2nd - Maris Stella

do you know if his chance of getting into Maris Stella will be lower just because he put it as his 2nd choice ?

        Thank you
Yes, YLH88, take INNOVATE's advice, put Maris Stella as 1st choice, his chance of getting in is very high.

Thank you so much 25hourMaid, Innovate, Lizawa.

Ok, I will put 1st - Maris Stella, still working out the other 5 schools…

Do you think it make sense to put the following for my ds’s score of 234 :

              1st - Maris Stella
              2nd - SJI
              3rd - St Andrew or Fairfield ?
              4th - Commonwealth
              5th - Clementi Town
              6th - ??

Good if compared to a person with agg of 220, but not so good if compared to a person with agg of 282

True that there isn't much of other \"races\" to mix with, but if he picks up 3rd language, he will still be able to make friends with other races.
But how to? you mean other studetns from other schools? and I thot the give-up rate is high and usually students gve-up after 1 term of trial ? Any recommendation? What 3rd lang is your son taking and is he still taking?

I suspect that is why before the implementation of IP, many RI and RGS students have chosen HCJC over RJC.

Where did you get this information from?

90% of RI/RGS cohort chose to go to RJC...over HCJC many times.

Even b4 the implemenation of IP, RJC have be ranked the top JC for many years.

If you are confident that yr son has something that SJI needs, put SJI as first choiuce and Maris nxt. Hve to inform you that the appeal list is approx 200 long.

                        Thanks Innovate.

                        25hourmaid, what's your feel ?

With that score, I would put Maris Stella as 1st choice, it is a wiser choice in my opinion. Don't mean to be a damper, but 234 is a bit too far from SJI's COP last year. My advice is the same to everyone that asked about appeal - that the appeal process is very stressful.
