just to say I am a close follower of this topic, and super interested in how angeliatay's and 2bbtang's sons fare in acs! Will be good if other acs parents could chip in and share their (and sons') experiences with acsj and/or acsp, so first-timers like us can learn and understand more!

heh, i'm a kiasu one too - my son is coming to three, and we are thinking of moving to within 1km of either ac-school. Parents, please pile your valuable experiences here 🙏
My son is in P3 at acsp and he does enjoy his school as well. I found that the school is not stressful for him at all in P1 and P2 (maybe he has a nice teacher). Even in P3 now, he has never been stressed and enjoys school too. Also he has joined a few CCA within the 2 years and learning a lot. I am letting him taking part is any cca he wants now, so he can be more exposed to it and decides later what he really wants.

        Hi temjin68,

U can only register one school. If u change yr mind & wish to register 2nd school, you will to inform the 1st school. There is no way MOE system can accept 2 schools registration. As for ballot, u will knw on the last day of registration if u r required to go for ballot.

For ACS, only 1 km stands slight chance cos majority goes to Old Boys( For now).

                hi

It seem that the school to take PV. Wonder is they accept active community leader. I am not christain so cannot volunteer for church.

                Hi temjin68,

Unfortunately, both ACS and ACSJ do not accept PV. You can only sign up as PV under the Parent Support Group after your child is in the school.

The only way will be staying within 1km of the school. If the study the pass balloting history, ACSJ might have better chance or rather slightly more seat as compare to ACS Pri under 2C Phrase. If I'm remember correctly, for last year, within 1km (no balloting), only those within 1 to 2km have balloting. Then again, no one can predict what can happen. Is still safer to be within 1km distance range.

Hi, I am asking on behalf of my nephew.

His dad is an old boy from ACS secondary but not primary school, so if he joins the OBA, will he qualify for phase 2A? Or do you have to be an old boy of ACS Primary / ACS Junior?

                  Thanks! 😄

Both school esp Primary @ Barker are just difficult to get in. ACS PRIMARY has 8 Classes for P1 whereas Junior has 9 classes cos Junior has a biggeR premise.

ACS PRIMARY premise has BRMC(Church), BRMCK(Kindergarten), Primary School & Secondary School.

                      ACS JUNIOR occupys whole building.

For ACS fans, better try ACS Junior as balloting result always shown abt a class more for vacancies. 240(Pri) vs 270(Junior)

Good Luck to all parents who registrating children this year! 😛 :celebrate:

Latest 2009 Pri. One Registration results: 80% of the vacancies at ACS (Pri) are filled up by Phase 2A2. From Phase 2B onwards, ACS left with 26 vacancies, all subjected to balloting. Other primary schools with 80% take-up rate by phase 2A2 are Henry Park and Nanyang Pri.
