      Hi Brenda10

The camps in March, June and Sept uses the same books to cover the different maths tricks. Meaning if u miss the camp in Mar, u can still attend in June. However in Sept there is an extra camp - final preparation for PSLE.

So if u attend the camp in Mar, u will learn all the tricks in Mar and start using them for the CAs and SAs.

The books given in camps are written by Ernest Wong and u can buy them from Popular. Go to Popular and look thru the books and decide if u want to join the camp.

What is the name of the publisher?

      Hi Fat Mama

Thank you for your valuable feedback and we have a better picture now.

      Best Regards

Both my elder kids attended in Dec their p5 year. But only my no.2 attended the rest of the camps, but we spread them out throughout his p6 year. One of the best was the one where they tackle A* questions. I don't think my kids had time to go thru the assessment books on their own.

          Hi Phankao

If this is the case then I think is quite worth to attend.

          Thank you for your info.

          Happy New Year.

Thanks phankao and fat mama for all your inputs. It definately gives us a better idea now.

How about the science camp? Any inputs how they coach the kids in science? My DS need help to answer the open-ended Qs effectively, any enrichment/tution which focusses on this?

Info on the fees charged(for camp/regular tution) would also be helpful.

            Happy new year to all.

                      Hi Pixiedust,

My DS attended 3 sessions of his day camps in 2009. 2009 PSLE maths was v tough but he still managed to score A*. All along DS maths is quite good and prior to the 3 lessons DS had never had any tuition for maths

His lessons benefited DS and he enjoyed the maths tricks that Ernest Wong taught. The lessons are from 9 - 5 pm with lunch provided. The lessons can be quite boring becos of the long hrs.

The kids must be willing to learn if not then might not be beneficial bcos each class has abt 20 students.

                      No harm trying.
                      Hi 'Fat Mama'

Can I ask which 3 camps did you DS attend. My DS is quite weak in math (60plus) and I am thinking for sending him for 1 or 2 of the camps, but there are so many different camps to choose from.

Does the maths trick your DS learnt helped him in his sch work?

                      TIA for your feedback.

                      Regards

Yes, my ds also attended in 2009. He did v v well in prelims and got A* for psle math. He said that the camps were the most useful.
