DD’s class just had mock maths test. Half the class failed. Lowest marks was zero out of 20. And theirs is supposedly the best class. Dunno how much they can improve in time for CA1…

I’ve heard about similar P5 CA1 results from neighbours with older children. Children with high band1 in P4 score 60+ for P5 CA1 and 1/2 of banded class failing. Seems normal and they will improve by SA1. I am steeling myself for it.

We are also drowning in HW. It is really a LOT!
I give my ds daily dose of vit C + omega oil. I am prepared to write excuse note in the diary if really cannot complete the HW by target bedtime.

I think I am the one that needs Vit C. Not CA1 yet but I feel punctured already.

Son has Maths homework everyday...if not My Pals homework book it will be activity book 😢 really didn't expect this level of stress. I planned his CA1 revision but he can't follow it bcos of school hw. He finished his EL compo close to 11pm. How ? CA1 in 2 weeks time.

The fraction topics in P5 covers term like remaining, equal amount at beginning or equal amount after spending etc. As such, have to be careful of all these terms otherwise may solve wrongly.
            Just my 2 cents thought

Usually by SA1 or SA2 will be more stable after this period of adjustment. Important is to monitor the speed and the accuracy. I would think is good to take some health product if is required. Take good care and 加油.

I feel that doing compo at home really taken up a lot of time that resulted insufficent time for other works.

I remember my neighbour telling me her son's class failed Maths CA1 in P5. At SA1, it was a litte better.
The Eng worksheets he brought home comprises of synthesis from just about everything...don't know where to start when time is so tight. Telling myself after this CA1, must get son to practice one compo theme every week.

Yup...it was the 1st pic compo brought home yesterday after all the situational ones. Had Maths as well. Hubby wanted to run through his mistakes for Maths but son's brain juice wasn't flowing...so told hubby not to disturb him.

Quite true. Is better to review their mistake when they are alert othewise the effort will be in vain.
