Agree cos my dd got this question wrong! She thinks too much. What an irony, thinks too much also wrong, doesn't think also wrong. She felt the little kids all ran to help out so should be 合作,instead of 关怀. You can't 搭配 合作 with 互相. It's usually 分工合作。Like you've mentioned, the scenario doesn't seem appropriate in showing 关怀.

same, my dd also filled in \"合作\", 而“互相合作”是常用词语。不过用于此短文也很牵强, 但至少好过填“关怀”。

Should be 照顾, a Chinese PhD said.[/quote]Ya, I was also thinkg of 照顾.

I also find CN OE model answers from Ts quite confusing :? . But I don't usually send quiries to CN T when I am in doubt as my CN quite half baked. But I think E3 and Lizhi are very good in looking in depth and raising their concerns as from there, we can all learn too!

After reading the passage again myself, I think the girls were trying to elicit info which their parents were trying to conceal, so weren't the parents being secretive? :?

Actually both choices will make perfectly good answers. To me, tight-lipped means 'nothing to comment' but it is also synonymous to being secretive. The qn itself is clear, but the choices provided makes the whole qn ambiguous.

I also think so.. why cannot have two meanings. In chinese, called \"一语双关\". 😉

Son told me the time allocated for this Friday's Parent-Teacher is at 920am. Asked him whether I can go at 730am, sing Majulah and then meet his teachers...hahaha.

On second thoughts, I don't feel like going PTC anymore. Whatever the teacher will be saying will probably be what I already knew of my dd (every year, i listen to same old story) and I have not much to say or even if I have, it's not going to change anything or my concerns might most likely be other parents' concerns too, so they can bring them up to the teacher. Also, I doubt I can speak to CL teacher this year. Maybe I should L-F, L-F? 😉

I desperately need to talk to his teachers...of course the first line they will all tell me is his love for talking :x On the other hand, I can roughly guess what they will tell me...some Pei Hwa teachers are not very tactful when parents ask how kids can improve.

after i attended my dd1's PTC first time, then until her P6, never go to meet her teacher anymore... sounds \"不痛不痒“。

Yes it certainly is impt to be tactful if one is giving less-than-positive feedback. But more imptly, I'll look at the merits of those feedback in itself and see how I can proceed from there.

I remembered when ds took the TLL english test last jul the feedback from the ctr was not positive and so he was not selected. I evaulated their input (which is 100% valid) and work with ds on it. And today he has improved which is the main thing really.

I always attend with hubby...well, women can be sensitive and take it negative sometimes but when I asked hubby if he felt the points/tone mentioned are helpful or not, he told me that certain teacher gave useful ones while the other 2 were not...so it's not that I'm overly sensitive.

                      Hi Happy Mama,

My elder dd had never received a feedback form fr her teacher and she is in P5 dis year. So I guess it depends on the Teachers' style.
But whenever I drop an email to the T, usually I'll need to drop an email at least once a year, I'll ask the T for feedback on her behaviour in class. So far, my elder dd's Ts hv bn responsive and on the ball. Not so for my younger dd. 😐
Hi periwinkle, at least your DD's T is responsive and entertains your queries... that's good enough... 😄

Did you check if the entire P5s did not receive it?
