I did not attend the P talk but heard there was a discussion on B4 as promotion criteria for chinese. Anybody would like to share?

For the languages u must get at least b4 to be promoted n your gpa must be 2.1 or 2.3 as well

Anyone went for Parent/Teacher on 2 Apr for Y1 regarding English. I sort of asking the teacher that DD seems to hv very little English hw other than everyday searching for vocab & if there is any recommendation on improving her essay writing. Her reply was if they can get into RV, they are something \"up\" in their brain. They will not be giving much hw & alot will depend on their self-motivation. She suggested , we as parents can hv our child do newspaper cutting & write their own reflection & we parents go thru with them. I just do not understand if we as parents are being tasked to teach them, then why are we having the teachers around?& not all parents are gd in English! Any comments?

Hi, from my understanding, LA is a different approach of teaching. A lot of self reading is required. In school, i heard a lot if writing n presentation skill. Newspaper reading is indeed EXTREMELY important. I have heard student in year 5 find GP diffucult because they have not been reading enough. I suggest you adapt the teacher's suggestion but you can get yr child to ask teacher to help by going through her refection and correct her mistake.

ya GP very diff from O lvl EL. need to read widely for the content knowledge. think ELA focus on writing skills is good for GP while presentation skills is good for PW. must start my child to read more on current affairs.

Next Thursday is half-day for the students. Lessons start at 10.30am, only need to report to sch at 10.00am. This is to celebrate the majority of Y6 getting distinction for their project work. :celebrate:
