looks like this female, foreign corpse has blown up a big issue now… it has opened up a can of worms…

in that case, based on Lianhe Wanbao, 22 May 2011 report coming from raysusan, means all Town Council need to replace ALL water tank in SG, not just that Woodlands block water tank alone.

esp. those hdb flats located in red light district areas little India, desker road, Geylang, etc…

wats known fr reports so far:

Residents heard screams at ard 7 am.
Maid suspected died between 7+ to 9+ am.
Police informed of body found at 10 am. (who informed d police?)
PUB cut off water supply at 11 am.
Between 7 am to 10 am, some residents reported to TC dat water is yellowish n foamy.
TC advised “maintenance work’ being done.
Residual water in piping continued to be used till 5 pm.

Many questions. d more urgent questions dat need immediate action.
                1. Why cleaners hv unlimited access to keys to water tanks? Were key duplicates made. Who in TC control d key n rooftop access?

                2. Security measures for access to potable water tanks have to be step up with immediate effect to calm d populace. d easy access to keys n security breach is welcoming opportunity for terrorists or vandals.

                3. Why didn’t TC informed residents to stop using water from d taps IMMEDIATELY when they know a body was found in one of d water tanks?

                4. TC has to bear d responsibility n costs for not taking appropriate immediate action. Residents r understandably upset n angry. Wat if there’s waterborne diseases? Why no health check for all residents for peace of mind?

                5. $10 rebate for water bill? Hello, d whole water delivery system from tanks to taps must be flush out n clean to assure d residents at TC's costs. Will d $10 rebate reassure or appease d residents?

So finally town council will change the water tank, also each resident in that block will be given a $10 rebate on next utility bill. Hooray for the residents in that block! :celebrate:

now I wonder about the water tanks in MY block…I’m sure there must be other residents in SG who are thinking about the same. Will town councils start providing proactive information on how the water tanks in OUR blocks are secured? or wait until something bad happens than address the hot potato on hand.

Actually the security at the roof top in at my place is also so lax.

Many a time teenagers were found up at the roof. Apparently went up there to view the scenery  .Caught a couple with toilet roll with them. Can't imagine what they did!

this might set off a precedent that if you need to change your water tank, just dump a dead animal in there.
