RI or HCI
-
In reality, those who cannot catch up are the minority at every end of sec 2. HCI has a ‘O’ level class for them and give them very good tr to drill for ‘O’ level. However, those who wake up at sec 3 and do well. they will put them back to IP track again.

What about RI? What happened to those who cannot catch-up - is there a "O" level class too?

I know someone who got in thru Music DSA (BTW he is really talented in Music) and came end of sec 1 could not cope. The next yr when I saw them again he was in a neighbourhood school uniform. But he continue to persue his Music. -

Come to sec school, is it all about attentiveness and hard work to do well. Some of the iSpark pp got into 'O' level class also.
Yes, some do fade away despite scoring 270+ in PSLE.verykiasu2010:
during the DSA process in HCI, we talked to some non-iSpark students. They openly 'complained' about difficult to catch up with the school work
Even non-iSpark students complain it's difficult to catch up? Tough! That's why must select your secondary school carefully. -
Glad to see some enlightened postings. In an attempt to choose btw these twos or whether is suitable for hardworking pupils who mug consistently to get in, it all boils down to commonsense. Those who attempt to dsa thru sports or other talents have to bear the consequences of their choices a later stage. Many who eventually got offers later realise that they actually form a base for other bright kids to move ahead and excel. These students may actually be better off studying at other good sec schools and make their marks there. At the end of the day, vast majority of RI/HCI will still end up at local unis, so no difference at all.
Amongst many of the above. they may be some more suitable for applied education(free education at poly) ie O-level route-poly-uni. -

Anyone can share please?
Thank you -
I heard from my DS that next year (apply to this year Sec 2) there won’t be anymore O levels class in HCI. Those who struggles will be put in the "Monitored IP" class, which is good becoz they can move on with the other to JC without having to take O levels. On the other hand, they are closely monitored, more resources will be put in to ensure that they catch up.
Frankly this the part that I like about HCI. They don’t just kick you out when you couldn’t make it. -
Blur Dad:
less than one class, or not even half a class......usually for each level
