I know what you mean... hang in there scoobydoo and good luck! :xedfingers:

Tokidoki:
my friend may decide to give up HPPS if she can secure SJIJ during 2C. :xedfingers:Tokidoki:
she juz registered yday, phase 2A2. should be secured.
Fabbymum:
I think what Fabbymum is trying to say is if one has secured a place in a school (e.g. before phase 2B), he/she will need to give up the place in that school first before he/she goes to try next phase in another school. Am I correct?I understand that parents are not allowed to register for later phase if they have registered in the earlier one...that means, your friend has to give up the seat in 2A2 before trying for Phase 2C in another school...:)
Yes, that's correct CactusInDesert
One cannot be holding on one seat in earlier phase and trying to enter the later phase just to try the chance of getting a better school...it is not fair for those in the Q for later phases, right? Therefore, we have to think carefully before withdrawing from the earlier phase that is already in hand. Otherwise, may end up getting school of least preferred choice!
Sorry lah...am so gan cheong that I am following this forum from office...hee hee...this is more exciting than my work now...

Thank you...it's 1 week to go and I'm so damned stressed out.
1 week to go...relax...some things are beyond our control...I have been stressed about this since 2 years ago...wrote to more than 10 schools, submitted our CVs for PV, went for PV balloting, spoken to MP to join RC, looking for houses, etc...We had even did PV at school that we did not eventually register! So, in the end, we stayed with Anderson Primary School, which we got in yesterday...no fish prawn also ok...APS is also a good school in our neighbourhood! Thank God that this is over for us now. Popular school does not guarantee our child's success...it is our value and support that we give them towards their successSAHM_TAN:
Need some advice. If I fail to get a place in phase 2b, can I apply for the same school again in phase 2c ?
Yes. P2C is based on distance advantage of <1km, 1kim-2km and >2km. So if you still wish to go for it at P2C, it's best if you are <1km, if not and even if you are <1km, it's best to check past year balloting history to make an inform decision.

Fabbymum
You are correct. -
CHIJ TPY is looking sooooooooooo far away frm me now…
-
I remember those days when my parents just put us in the school nearest to home. Only my elder sis got to go to a "good" school. Whereas when my brother and I came along, it was nearest to home.
-
hi parents,
Can i check my situation? I live within 1 km of IJ TPY but seems like IJ will def hv ballot… my next choice is Marymount but also considering ST Marg… in this case shld I:
a. Just "dare dare" go and register for IJ TPY and wait to be balloted?
b. Just go apply St Marg in 2C?
c. Just go Marymount and try transfer in P2 to IJ TPY?
My fear is that if I choose choice "a" then St Marg may turn out to be full by the time 2c results come out on 5th Aug…
HELLLLLLPPPPPPPPPP! -
Fabbymum:
No problem as I want to clarify on this too. If allowed, then I also want to try for better school. Too bad, it is not allowed.
Yes, that's correct CactusInDesert

LKVM:
Do i look like i answered myself? haha, mayb ya...
I think you have answered your own question!!!agnesleong:
Tanjong Katong seldom have ballot for 1-2km, so this is a rather safe choice. After all this is a good school also right?
I m in a dilemma now, would appreciate any advice.
Thank in advance. :salute:
I wish you all the best :xedfingers:
I think i'll do this way, monitor the no. of applicant in P2C within 1km for Kong Hwa first.
If the the applicant outrun the vacancy by 30%, i'll drop this school and register at Tanjong Katong straight away.
Safer this way... stress stress stress... -
@gksmummy… Same dilemma…
BT one thing I find unfair is that if phase 2B requires balloting, remainders will be allowed to register in phase 2C to "compete" with us who has no affiliations and cannot afford time to volunteer… =(
