2011 P1 Registration Exercise for 2012 In-Take

Mummyo,
It's the same in all areas. I'm in Clementi and all the good schools around here like Nan Hua, Henry Park, Nanyang, Pei Hwa are also all taken up by former students who live far from here. Then what's left for us? I also enrolled at ATS cos I'm from there but have withdrawn because I feel the travelling will be too much once they move to their holding campus.
Such is the system and we're all trying to work within it, using whatever favourable status we have to enjoy a priority registration.
If parents feel that it's worth it for their children to travel more than an hour to get to school every day then it's up to them. Can only lament why our parents didn't send us to one of these popular schools back in our day.
I share your frustration. I am within 5 mins walking distance to PH and have stay here for more than 10yrs. If can't get in, will need to go elsewhere which is a burden for me. Extra travelling time, extra $$ spent on transport, more naggings to get DS to be faster, less sleeping time. These are really nonsense and give me more stress. I think if this happens, I will end up venting all frustrations on DS.
A relative staying in Bukit Batok sending son to Nanyang. He was relatively worried about traffic condition at first but was asked by many to try first. If really cannot, then withdraw him.
Saw from a newspapers article that Aitong had applicants staying in Jurong and Bukit Batok. IMO, the travelling time can be more than an hour. Why deprive kids in having more rest or revision time, thus adding stress to ownself. -
We ourselves like to choose to work far far away? :siao: If we parents have a choice.... :siam: , my answer is mostly NOPE. Then why make our children suffer then? :scratchhead: :imdrowning:

There are 3 schools within 1 km to where we r staying & it is so difficult to get into any of it. They r ACSJ, ACSP & SJIJ. My son will be under P2C. Looking at the numbers, it is crazy. This is too absurd! MOE needs to review the Primary registration system. This is driving we all parents crazy…

Dear Parents,
Do not despair if you did not get into your ideal school. I gave up PCS 3 years old due to distance. Nevertheless, I managed to transfer her out easily after P1. It is not so hard as you think. Distance and good school do play a part in \"moulding\" the child. No one should underplay either of these ! Good luck and stay positive. :celebrate: -
I am having what I term as double disappointments. I volunteered in Nanhua and Rulang but I am > 2 km for both schools. I do not even have a chance to ballot at both schools. This is really 人算不如天算!
I have secured a place at Jurong PS at phase 2A2. Should I consider Frontier PS at phase 2C? The things I like about Frontier, beside it being a new school, are the school hours, having the same FT for 2 years and nearer my home. -
alng,
so sorry to hear this... :hugs:
Jurong Pri is near you? It is a good school too. -
Celyw:
Jurong PS is outside 2 km as I am at Jurong West. To be honest, I know nothing about Jurong PS. Are your kids there? Please share the strengths and weaknesses of Jurong PS. Thanks very much!alng,
