It's good that he shares and it also shows that he is listening... :celebrate:

I was just asking ds the other night, why is he getting such low scores for his music worksheets (one had an egg!).. he told me that he has no idea what the teacher was talking abt in class. So I said that if u don't understand you should ask. His reply was 'But she is Chinese leh!! she won't understand what I am talking about!' He doesn't quite believe me when I tell him we are chinese too 🤷 He used to be able to converse in Chinese with his K2 teacher and at home.. but somehow he can't do so properly now.

Really wonder if he listens and understand his lessons in school..

The reason for this is that our environment is not conducive to learning that language. My ds also experienced the same issue. Two trips - one to china, another to taiwan - fixed that problem. When ds realised that in this world, there're still societies using that language exclusively, he dropped the notion that chinese is useless.

Btw, music is ds's favourite lesson cos he gets to 'perform' during class. Incidentally, according to him, there're 2 music prodigies in the class. One boy completed grade 8, another girl diploma. Not sure whether he heard wrongly but if it's true, that's truly amazing. :salute:

This is unacceptable. You should write an email to the FT.

Last year, this boy also told my dd he was grade 8. I didn't think otherwise. However, he took his grade 5 theory exam on the same day as my dd this year. If he claims he was grade 8 last year, I wonder how he attained it without at least a pass in the grade 5 theory? So there, if your ds's classmates completed grade 8 and above, they must be superkids to understand grade 5 theory at such a young age! One way to prove it, get them to play for your ds. Hehe...😉

i think this chinese teacher might have some problem with my dd. once i write something nicely on her notebook in written chinese regarding dd homework, next day she ask my dd "why did u tell yr mum all this u should know and hear properly when i teach"…as a parents and locally born and breed here we always try to encourage to speak and teaches our child in chinese language, i think this chinese teacher might have some thought that we r not local i guess? or my chinese is too bombastic? well it normal for singaporean to be well verse in chinese and english right? it only we bit different we like to verse strongly on chinese with our kids. well i guess no point writing to d form teacher i think she already over d head with this chinese teacher as well…heard many about this cl teacher think i just let d matter rest and remember d date that she got slap.if happen again im gonna slap her myself to wake her up just like d wp rally said. im quite happy with my daughter chinese result she always at d peak in class kinda of console. best of all she got a doting form teacher on her.

Why would your dd not see her after her next primary term? I thought P1 to P2 is enbloc and that includes the Ts.

Agree with E3, after you ascertained that there's indeed no misunderstanding, should email sch to seek clarification & redress if necessary.

Edit: Just saw your latest post. Pls don't let it rest. Do it for the welfare of our future PH students as well. Copy email to HOD & P if you think FT can't help. Suddenly I feel so grateful for both of ds's Ts.
