You are right, traffic can’t be that bad, say 20-30 yrs ago… I was merely quoting what that parent wrote in her post. Staying near the sch do not mean that one would school there. For my DH’s family, only 1 out of 12 siblings went to NY despite being so near as during those days (v long ago), NY was not all that famous and it was a Chinese school and an all girls school. My DH and most of his siblings attended English schools else where. Otherwise, our DS did not have to ballot in 2C.

how many PRs can there be ? can count the number of housing units. Casabella is already out of 1 km zone. Farrer Court is no more, Queen's Road Blk 3 to Blk 8 are mostly 3 room flats, old households, not many kids are from there

and many of the kids we see on the road are already under phase 1

I am not PR, but keep blaming the PR is of no use unless one has the right data

There are some condos across Farrer Court, like Spanish Village and Gallop Gables are within 1km.

And of course the Tresor and Duchess Crest, etc. etc.

so, a lot of over generalisation huh - talking about traffic condition for \"more than 30 years\"....

as what you said herein, it reinforces the question where to find so many within 1 km suddenly ?

actually NYPS quite well known since last time liao, PM Lee also attended there, though it was an all-girls school officially known as NYGH, it has a primary section which caters to the boys as well....they were the full school then, until MOE split out the primary section as a full fledged primary school

by the way, the governing board members continues to donate lots of money in the recent fund raising by the school. They have to raise $10m before MOE will let them start the expansion program. NYPS is not a public school - it is a government aided school

Just checked on MGS . There are 39 applicants (27 Singaporeans and 10 PRs within 1km, 2 out of 2km) for 35 places! So looks like I defintely no hope liao! So sad…
