Today's Straits Times Home Pages B1-2: So many schools including those non traditional popular schools are over-subscribed in Phase 2C.

All 3 schools within 1 km my vicinity are over-subscribed too.

MOE really needs to look into this trend and overhaul their current system. This is really nerve-wrecking and heart-wrenching phase in life parents have to go through.

Are you one of those who would still persevere and go through the balloting next week or are you pulling out today and go with your second choice?

My heart goes out to all who are going through this phase. Having gone through 1 round of balloting at Phase 2B, I already found it stressful. But the stakes are even higher at this phase. All the best to all who have decided bravely to weather this storm, despite the odds!
It is so nerve-wrecking and heart-wrenching to sit through the balloting procedure. Before that we are already so stressful waiting for the day of balloting to arrive. Can't get it over and done with quickly. I told my hubby to be present with me in case I faint...just to crack a chuckle amidst this stress we all facing now 😂

hi all,

i called Gongshang at 11.10am today. they have 95 applicants with only 63 vacancy. i had done my sum and decided not to go for the ballot. too risky. i am sure by 4.30pm, the nos would be higher and % of me getting the school will be even lower.
so sad...:(

Cant agree more about nerve-wrecking and stress… thats why we opted to skip the balloting (thats 6yos ago) and be prepared for the worst at home. We were already planning which other schools to approach (within and outside 1km) should the worst happen. Thankfully, within minutes of ballot completion, school called us with good news and none of our contingency plans had to be realized.

Less than 2hrs before the conclusion of P2C...so nervous for all the parents taking part in this year's registration! 😓

I’m looking at 140 applicants fighting for 76 vacancies in Mee Toh. Best part is, all of them are within 1km. So stressed.

Indeed nerve-wrecking P1 registration 2011 for many parents

For me, already so stressful upon deciding
the right school. I am sure I would not be able to
go thru the process of balloting… will faint on the spot…triple
stressful. Really feel for the parents especially
JW parents who have back-plan yet with such shocking
results, no chance to even activate den die liao…

FYIP, my sister who has gone thru the balloting way 7 yrs back,
prior to registration, her family went Bai Bai at temple,
during the balloting, she prayed very hard,
after balloting, she went to offer to thanks God
who has answered to her prayer.
Not about religion, but a way to seek for peace of mind
other than just waiting for the big day to come .
Why not?
