though HPPS is GEP school, but has not produced Top student so far in past few years.

same goes for - ACS, Catholic high, Nan Hua, Tao Nan GEP schools.

so far, the GEP schools that had produced Top students are Rosyth, St Hilda, Nanyang and RGPS.

Honestly, I think it's splitting hairs to compare which schools have produced the top PSLE student. It's just the one student. That student may be exceptionally bright with a lot of support from his parents/tuition centre etc. His achievements may not be all attributable to the school. Also, it's not that many points that separate the top student from the top 10-20 students identified by MOE.

:goodpost: my ds need not be the top psle student (he is in one of the 'non-top-students-producing' GEP schools), but he got CO from RI (his dream school).. and in my heart, he is always the best student! :rahrah: :rahrah: :rahrah:
:rahrah: to your ds! Who knows, he may be THE top PSLE student this year. šŸ™‚

        Yes, agree! šŸ˜‚

SG should build a 'Celebrity primary school' very near Caldecott Hill.
this school will produce the next generation talents of TCS actors, actresses. šŸ˜‰

going along the same line of argument, we should have pri school for the PAP, and another primary school for the opposition ..... :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :siam: :siam:

Actually when I shared news with frens that dd was successful in ballot to HPPS, one of the comments- 'oh thats the school with MPs' children' until today (and 6yos have passed) dunno which MP :scratchhead: ... but many bigshots who throw their weight about! :frustrated: Pity the operation and admin staff...

Thank you very much, jtoh! You have been so helpful, considering that your kid is not taking PSLE this year! Wow, your ds1 is already in RGS! Any ds2/dd2 taking PSLE next year or later? With your vast knowledge and experience, sure no problem! Btw, are you a ks mum or ks dad? I know vlim is a ks mum, I thot she was a ks dad initially, ops! Luckily she didn't mind šŸ™‚

                      tankee:
                      KSP:

...........One parent told Zaobao that Zoe \"lost out\" on the opportunity, because she \"did not do enough homework\" in ensuring that her home was within a one- or two-kilometre radius of the school.

This would give her son another chance of getting a place at the school by being eligible for the balloting process, if there are still vacancies.

She said actress lives at Holland Road, which is more than two kilometres away from the Bukit Timah school......

It pays to do homework. better still join KSP.com šŸ˜‰

anyway, why Nanyang never advise her? so strange :?

                      To be fair to NYPS...

For the past 8 years of phase 2B at NYPS,
there were balloting in 4 of those years.
Only 2006 (Dragon baby) required balloting for those living within 1km,
                      the other 3 (2005, 2006, 2010) were for > 2km.

Zoe Tay would have been performing her PV in 2009/2010. Since there were no 2B balloting in 2007 (2B APP 91%) & 2008 (96%) & 2009 (100%), no one could have warned her that she wouldn't even have a chance to ballot....not even KSP.com! šŸ˜‰

                        phtthp:
St James kindergarten is a playground for kids of rich TaiTai, mediacorp artistes, doctors practioners, lawyers, bankers aiming for primary schools like ... Nanyang, ACS, SCGS, etc.

they like St James because it is a place whereby besides allowing their kids to learn, also a place for them to network socially amongst themselves. Also, many parents like the curriculum, bec it is learn through play and exploratory method type. For kids at this age 3-6, this method works well.

another drawing attraction is St James kindy has got a list of enticing and very good enrichment programmes, at the kindergarten premises.
Explains why my kids not there...I don't like to network/socialise...and I don't care for those programmes. LOL
