Dimension, SCGS is full-school status so it doesn't matter if you are from SCGS Sec, your dd still qualifies under old girl phase.Hi all
I'm from SCGS Secondary but not primary.
Wondering what's the best way to secure my DD's entry into SCGS?
Thanks

I think as as old girl from SCGS (even from the Sec School), you can be eligible for 2A(2). Can't find the website saying this but I read about it sometime last year. -

My DD wakes up at 5am and the school bus picks her up at 5.20am. Staying at Bedok. For the return leg, she is now the 4th to reach home. Travel time about 30 - 45 mins.Arielyn:
HI Shawny, I stay in Katong too. WHat time does your DD board the school bus? I was told by the bus operator that my DD (she's in K1 now) would need to board the bus by 6am to make it to school by 715am. And you were saying that hte return trip takes about an hour?
Hi Arielyn, dd1 boards schoolbus at 6.05-6.10am. Yes return leg takes around 50mins to 1hr. Depends on which part of Katong you stay too. I happen to be on the later leg which means they alight the girls at the side nearer to Lasalle and the various roads around it like Bournemouth, Wilkinson and work downwards to Tg Katong where I am. However I do know that there are 2 Katong bus services as another service also plies the Marine Parade portion. (mine doesn't)
Btw, I have a K1 dd too! I know another 2-3 gals heading to SCGS in 2013. Are you an old girl too? -
pick up at 5.20 am? that is really really early.

Pirahna, if your DD is the 4th to disembark, then by right she should be one one of the later ones to get on the bus. Then why still have to board the bus at 520am? Poor girl...does she get enough sleep?

Shawny17, yup, I was from SCGS, full 10 years there

Bus No. 9 to school. Bus no. 10 to home. So it is different buses for the 2 trips.Pirahna, if your DD is the 4th to disembark, then by right she should be one one of the later ones to get on the bus. Then why still have to board the bus at 520am? Poor girl...does she get enough sleep?

Luckily, when the alarm clock rings, we tap her shoulder and she wakes up without fuss. There was 1 time we over slept because I forgot to set the alarm clock. So whole family wakes up, send DD to school then son to his K1 class at Kovan, then back to Alexandra Road to send spouse to work.
After this experience, DD knows that she cannot miss the bus or the whole family has to leave the house together.

Good thing is that she sleeps at 9pm daily. If she is tired, she can sleep in the afternoon when she is back. But she seldom sleeps in the afternoon. Luckily we started the sleep routine before she went to P1. Now even on weekends, she wake up at 7.30 to 8am.Pirahna, if your DD is the 4th to disembark, then by right she should be one one of the later ones to get on the bus. Waking up at 5am is really early
What time does your girl sleep everyday to be able to wake up at 5am? Guess she also takes a nap in the afternoon once back from school?
Mine will need to wake up at 5.30am and I am already wondering why so earlyβ¦:(
